Yoshimoto × SDGs MAGAZINE public recording event to be held! Airing on Friday, November 19 📻

Hello 🍃 This is Iguchi from the SDGs MAGAZINE editorial team!

“SDGs” was also nominated for this year’s U-Can New Words and Buzzwords Awards.

According to Job Soken, 92% of working men and women are familiar with SDGs! *

ESG, CSR, CSV, social good, ethical, sustainable, and more—these various ways of thinking about being kind to the planet, society, and people are spreading more and more these days. In fact, that wave has even reached the world of comedy. The Yoshimoto Kogyo-hosted “SDGs-1 Grand Prix,” held in October, is still fresh in our minds…!

This time, these currently hot Yoshimoto comedians teamed up with the Nippon Broadcasting System radio program and web media “SDGs MAGAZINE,” operated by SUNNY SIDE UP, for a collaboration 🌈

We are pleased to bring you an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the public recording scheduled to air from 8:00 to 9:00 PM on Friday, November 19!

* Survey period: October 27–31, 2021; respondents: working adults employed from “within 1 year” to “10+ years.”

The venue: Ikebukuro Nishi-guchi Park Outdoor Theater, Global Theater

Right in front of Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre! That park with the huge round Global Ring, just a short walk from Ikebukuro Station. In the pleasant breeze of this outdoor venue, audience members gradually began to gather!

Main MC: Ayame Goriki; Sub MC: Junichi Komoto (Jicho Kacho)

At the recording event, in addition to main MC Ayame Goriki, Junichi Komoto of Jicho Kacho appeared as sub MC!

A nonstop, educational talk full of laughs…! A sustainable recording with plenty of great moments ✨

In addition, guests such as Aiseki Start, Yuriyan Retriever, and Everybody joined us, and together with Professor Yasushi Nakano of Keio University, we held an SDGs roundtable on themes such as “moments when you feel SDGs” and “everyday things you are mindful of”!

What on earth is Yuriyan Retriever shouting…!? Stay tuned to the radio show ✨

An SDGs “oogiri”!? was also held!

We also held a special SDGs-themed collaboration featuring Ayame Goriki and Yoshimoto comedians.

Professor Yasushi Nakano of Keio University—who also contributes to Nippon Broadcasting System’s annual charity campaign “Radio Charity Musicthon”—joined as a guest, and the event was a huge success!

There was also a segment where, while actually experiencing total blindness and low vision (visual impairment), attendees learned together with Yoshimoto comedians and the audience about SDGs Goal 11, “Sustainable Cities and Communities,” using Toshima City as a model through barrier-free initiatives and universal design 💡

Finally, Deputy Editor-in-Chief Uchimura shared the highlights and must-listen points of the program!

Although it was our first large-scale event, this collaboration with Yoshimoto comedians made it an event that truly embodied SDGs MAGAZINE’s mission: “to communicate SDGs in an easy-to-understand way.”

Over the past year, all kinds of media have begun sharing information about SDGs.

At SDGs MAGAZINE, we have repeatedly created opportunities to help people “learn about it” first, but this collaboration—infused with humor—goes beyond simply providing a trigger to learn. It becomes time that makes you want to tell someone else, and that stays with you. We hope you enjoy it.
