An inside look at the PR operations at SUNNY SIDE UP!

Hello, this is Sunny-chan from Public Relations.
As we enter the latter half of April, the recruitment process for 2017 new graduates is progressing smoothly.
IMG_2235Many students attended our recent company information session. Senior employees took the stage to discuss their actual work and motivations for joining the company, and everyone listened intently. While we have introduced the work of SUNNY SIDE UP on this blog before, you may be curious about what actually happens on-site at a PR event. Therefore, we have put together a collection of scenes showing how our employees operate in the field.

This is a look at the OMOTENASHI selection 2016 award ceremony held in March.
IMG_1183_2This project is managed by the OMOTENASHI NIPPON Executive Committee, which includes SUNNY SIDE UP and its group company, ENGAWA. Like the OMOTENASHI Selection award ceremony, SUNNY SIDE UP organizes numerous new product launches and press conferences for various clients.

IMG_1336_2and we provide guidance to the media regarding microphone audio checks and positioning to ensure the ceremony is captured correctly.

IMG_1302_2This is a scene from an interview, where the SUNNY SIDE UP employee can be seen near (behind) the media. We are present during media interviews. At events such as new product launches where celebrities appear, there are often “media scrums.” In such cases, we guide the talent and the media to designated areas, manage the schedule to ensure the interview stays within the allotted time, and handle various other details with great care.

As a PR agency, we also serve as the point of contact when the media makes specific inquiries regarding what is possible during coverage.

While we have focused on the events of the day here, a great deal of preparation goes into the lead-up to the actual event. It is also our role to determine the best angle for delivering valuable news to the media.

Incidentally, students from the winning team of the After-School Internship STEP 2: Young Eggs Competition also participated in the OMOTENASHI selection 2016 award ceremony to gain hands-on PR experience.
IMG_1368On the day of the event, they assisted with venue setup and ushering guests to their seats. (Here they are, watching the ceremony intently.)

We hope this has given you a sense of the atmosphere at a PR event!
