“AKB48 Senbatsu Sousenkyo Museum” Opens Again This Year! Members Appear at the Opening Ceremony!
Hello, this is PR Sunny-chan!
This time, we are introducing the “AKB48 Senbatsu Sousenkyo Museum,” hosted by SUNNY SIDE UP GROUP’s Kumnam Entertainment and AKS Inc., the management company for AKB and other groups!
The “AKB48 Senbatsu Sousenkyo Museum” is an event held before and after the “AKB Senbatsu Sousenkyo,” which has become a nationally recognized event. It features memorabilia that fans cannot resist, including election posters by candidate members, autographed shikishi boards with their messages of determination, portraits of first-place winners, and the chairs they sit in after being selected!
The museum will be held at Shibuya PARCO Museum from today, June 2 (Thursday) through June 12 (Sunday), and at Tokyo Solamachi Space 634 from June 14 (Tuesday) through June 26 (Sunday)!
The day before the opening, an opening ceremony was held in front of Shibuya PARCO, and members running in this year’s Senbatsu Sousenkyo came to join us!
Yui Yokoyama (AKB48), Mayu Watanabe (AKB48), Yuki Kashiwagi (AKB48/NGT48), Rie Kitahara (NGT48), and Minami Kato (NGT48) attended and shared the appeal of the museum.
At the ceremony, the portrait of Rino Sashihara, who won first place in last year’s general election, was unveiled for the first time, and each member wrote their determination for the Senbatsu Sousenkyo on flip boards.
Regarding the highlights of this museum, Yokoyama commented, “Posters filled with the individual preferences of all 272 candidates and handwritten shikishi boards containing their thoughts are on display. Please visit, as this is the only place you can see them.” Watanabe also introduced “the ‘chair’ that past first-place winners sat in,” describing it as “not fluffy, but (laughs) a texture you’ve never experienced before,” which is on display and visitors can actually sit in.
In addition, the mantle awarded only to those who won first place in the Senbatsu Sousenkyo and costumes from AKB48’s 41st single “Halloween Night” are also on display, making this a museum where you can experience the excitement of the general election! Everyone, please join us!
