“RockCorps” Participate in 4 Hours of Volunteering! Deliver Toys to Children!
Hello, I am Sunny-chan from PR.
Complete 4 hours of volunteer work and participate in an artist live event
at the music event “RockCorps supported by JT.”
Less than two months remain until the Celebration on Saturday, September 2! Participating artists are being announced one after another, and we are very excited!♪
While some may imagine volunteering as outdoor physical activities (RockCorps certainly offers plenty of opportunities to move your body and work up a sweat!), we also provide indoor programs.
Today, our PR team member Sunny-chan participated in one of these programs, so we would like to share the experience!
The program was “Deliver Toys Made from Thinned Wood to Children!”
It actually took place in SUNNY SIDE UP’s conference room.
The instructor who taught us how to make the toys was NPO Forest Lifestyle Research Institute, an organization that usually works with citizens and companies to create sustainable forests. Using domestic thinned wood from forest management activities, we created toys that children would enjoy.
The toy we made was an “educational puzzle.”

The task involved applying masking tape to 3 cm wooden blocks in the same pattern as the sample (wooden block on the left in the photo).
We cut red, blue, and yellow masking tape with a cutter to fit the shapes on all six sides. We worked carefully and with care, ensuring the edges aligned perfectly and that when using two colors of masking tape in one square, they did not overlap.
Once we finished applying masking tape to all seven wooden blocks, it was complete!
These building blocks become puzzles, and children play with them like this…
They are given challenges like this!

Use the puzzle to create this symbol!
Working with the person next to you, use 16 puzzle pieces (4×4) to create the same symbol. The more puzzle pieces there are, the higher the difficulty and the more challenging it becomes…
“Is this right?” “How about this?” We struggled but completed it!
Even adults get absorbed in this! (laughs)
Thinking that children will play with the educational puzzles we created
makes us very happy!
The items we made today will be donated to kindergartens and nurseries, primarily in disaster-affected areas.
Finally, we divided into three groups and were given the challenge of “freely expressing RockCorps with puzzles.”
One group imagined the Celebration and created a musical staff with notes (photo left),
another group imagined Makuhari Messe, the venue for this event (photo right), and each group expressed their image of RockCorps through puzzles.

Communicating with fellow participants while working and creating a single piece together—
not just completing tasks but enjoying volunteering in a friendly atmosphere—is part of RockCorps’ appeal!
Whether participating alone or in a group, the programs are designed so everyone can enjoy volunteering
!
Finally, we took a group photo!
The friends we met here will see each other again at the Celebration on Saturday, September 2!
Volunteer recruitment is still open!
The volunteer program I participated in today will also be held this Saturday, so why not join us in making and delivering toys together?!
We have many other programs available, so if you are interested,
please participate in volunteering!

See you at the Celebration on Saturday, September 2!♪
