Experience the world of Wittamer, the Belgian Royal Warrant chocolate brand! A look inside the two-day limited pop-up cafe “Wittamer Chocolat Room” | Event Report
Hello, everyone. I am Kunii from Social Relations Department 1 at SUNNY SIDE UP.
Are you familiar with Wittamer, the chocolate brand originating from Belgium? It is a long-established brand beloved by the Belgian Royal Family and has been cherished by fans in Japan for many years.
To commemorate its 35th anniversary in Japan, Wittamer began rolling out three renewed signature products on September 1.
SUNNY SIDE UP was involved in everything from the media tasting event held to celebrate this renewal to the proposal of the pop-up project. As the PR representative in charge, I will report on the highlights of this highly successful pop-up event!
What is Wittamer, the Belgian Royal Warrant chocolate brand?
Wittamer is a long-established chocolate brand and holder of a Belgian Royal Warrant, founded in 1910 in Brussels, the capital of Belgium. It opened its first store in Japan in 1990. Today, it operates 22 stores, primarily in department stores across the Kanto and Kansai regions, offering traditional Belgian flavors through chocolates, cakes, and baked goods for gifting.
Commitment to the Renewal

While addressing global challenges surrounding cacao, these renewed products were created with the desire to “deliver truly delicious chocolate in a form that is more closely integrated into Japanese culture and daily life.” The ingredients, flavor, appearance, and packaging have all been completely redesigned.
Through discussions with the chef at the Brussels headquarters, the flavors have evolved to suit the Japanese palate while incorporating the essence of the main store, such as European trends and culture. Please take a look at these three signature products, which have been refined into a lineup that allows you to enjoy the “beauty,” “comfort,” and “excitement” of chocolate more closely in your daily life!
SUNNY SIDE UP’s Support: Creating a Space that Enhances the Wittamer Brand Experience
The pop-up cafe “Wittamer Chocolat Room,” held to commemorate the renewal, took place on Tuesday, August 19, and Wednesday, August 20.
In this pop-up space, we provided various photo spots that would make influencers attending the tasting and general visitors want to take a picture. By having photos taken at the venue spread across social media, the setup naturally evokes a desire to visit and taste the products.

Captivated by the World of Wittamer! A Report on the Event
Stepping into the venue, visitors were greeted by a lovely space filled with a sweet aroma, where many guests enjoyed taking photos at the various photo spots provided.

I also managed to snap a photo between tasks. The balloons at the venue were also unified in pink, and the lovely atmosphere really lifted my spirits.
Furthermore, at this pop-up cafe, visitors were among the first to taste the renewed products and a limited-edition cafe menu!

Taking photos of the jewel-like chocolates at a photo spot!
These jewel-like chocolates are characterized not only by their beautiful appearance but also by their innovative taste. The sweet and tart framboise sauce spreads through the mouth, and many visitors were heard exclaiming how delicious they were.

The highly popular pop-up cafe limited-edition crepes!
In addition to the renewed chocolates, this pop-up also featured a limited-edition cafe menu!Particularly popular were the crepes, which combined a crispy batter with plenty of butter and chocolate. Seeing the visitors enjoying them with smiles on their faces made me feel happy just watching.
