Opening Today! “CRAFT SAKE WEEK” Produced by Hidetoshi Nakata, a Connoisseur of Japanese Sake, Held at Roppongi Hills Arena
Hello, this is PR Sunny-chan!
The SAKE event where you can fully enjoy the appeal of Japanese sake
“CRAFT SAKE WEEK at ROPPONGI HILLS” was held today for 10 days from Friday, April 7th to Sunday, April 16th
at Roppongi Hills Arena in Tokyo!
This event, which began last year, is produced by Hidetoshi Nakata, who knows the appeal of Japanese sake inside and out! (See last year’s event here)
Over the 10 days, 100 carefully selected breweries from across Japan chosen by Hidetoshi Nakata will exhibit in rotation,
with 10 breweries each day according to the day’s theme.
Themes include “SPARKLING SAKE Day” and “Team Juyondai Day” led by Juyondai, known as a legendary sake, ensuring that visitors can enjoy the event no matter how many times they attend.
Here is the 10-day lineup!

Today, the opening day, is “TOP GUNS” day, featuring a gathering of fresh young brewery owners who are leading the sake industry—perfect timing for this season when new employees are joining companies!
And despite being a weekday, the brewery booths are filled with many visitors!
Even if you are not very familiar with sake, the brewery staff will kindly guide you, so you can choose sake with confidence. Additionally, sake sommeliers are available throughout the venue for easy consultation!
And delicious sake must be paired with delicious food, right?!
At CRAFT SAKE WEEK, restaurants representing Japan will offer special menus for 10 days! Just as much care is given to the cuisine as to the sake, so that visitors can fully enjoy Japan’s proud SAKE culture.
So, Sunny-chan immediately ordered some sake and food!
We ordered Suzunami’s “Nagoya Cochin Chicken Soboro Tamagoyaki” and
Don Ciccio’s “Hakodate Port Fresh Cod Mantecato.”
We enjoyed the combinations of “Japanese cuisine × sake” and “Italian × sake.”
We selected sake that pairs well with chicken and white fish, so the chicken soboro tamagoyaki was a perfect match!
As for the “Italian × sake” pairing, while sake has traditionally been associated with Japanese cuisine and sashimi, we discovered that its clean, crisp flavor also pairs wonderfully with Italian food!
Making such new discoveries is part of the appeal of CRAFT SAKE WEEK.
There is one more aspect that CRAFT SAKE WEEK takes pride in!
That is the venue!
Since the event is held in April, a “cherry blossom field” using 1,000 cherry blossom trees, a symbol of Japanese spring, fills the venue! Along with the sake and cuisine, the event embodies the desire for all visitors to “enjoy Japan’s wonderful culture.”
Today, on the opening day, many buds are still closed, but they will bloom in the coming days,
so why not visit this weekend!
And here is a commemorative photo with world-renowned architect Sou Fujimoto, plant hunter Seijun Nishihata, and Mr. Nakata, who created the 1,000-tree “cherry blossom field.”
The sake changes daily, and the food vendors also vary by day, so please enjoy Japanese sake along with Japan’s proud SAKE culture during these 10 days from April 7th to 16th♪
