Enhancing internal communication with mid-career hires through gum! Introducing “Wel-‘Chew’-to SUNNY SIDE UP”

Hello. I am T from the HR Department.
This time, I would like to introduce our initiative for internal communication.

At SUNNY SIDE UP, we launched an initiative called “Wel-‘Chew’-to SUNNY SIDE UP” so that mid-career hires can
build friendly communication with employee members as quickly as possible!!

“Wel-‘Chew’-to SUNNY SIDE UP” involves placing a WELCOME balloon and a gum dispenser at the seat of each mid-career hire.

Just by looking around the office, you can immediately see where the newly joined employee members are!
A gum dispenser is also placed under the balloon, so anyone is welcome to take gum freely—while also using it as an opportunity to communicate!
In addition to “Wel-‘Chew’-to SUNNY SIDE UP,” we also post profile sheets around the office introducing mid-career hires, including their profiles, hobbies, and personal mottos.

These days, people check the profile sheets of newly joined employee members, look around the office, head for the balloon to get some gum, and end up chatting about topics beyond work while chewing gum with the new employee members!!
(Some employees run out of gum in no time, too.)
We did not anticipate the gum being consumed this quickly, but it is a welcome problem to have, as it means employee members are talking with one another (laugh).

With that, we will continue to work together as one again this year!
