The Start of Our 34th Term! A Kickoff Presentation Full of Laughter and Tears! Our “Fun Commotion” Has Only Just Begun!
Hello. This is O from the Public Relations Group. Starting in July, we at SUNNY SIDE UP GROUP entered our 34th term! As is our annual tradition, the beginning of the term kicks off with a group-wide kickoff presentation.
■Once Again, We Reserved an Entire Theater Screen!
This year’s venue was the same as last year! We held the event at TOHO Cinemas Roppongi.
Upon arrival at the venue, we were greeted with popcorn in special cups. It created that unique excitement you only get at a movie theater.
With popcorn in hand, we took our seats, and the kickoff presentation finally began.
First, we started with a video summarizing the group’s recent achievements. Along with messages we value daily, such as “We also want to see things we’ve never seen before,” a selection of the “fun commotion” we’ve created was screened. Please watch the video here!
■The Sunny-Side Up President Transforms into a “Ginza Mama”!?
Next, a video content titled “Club Etsuko” was screened! This was a project where our representative, Tsugihara, dressed as a Ginza mama and had conversations with visiting customers.
Our management team and representatives from group companies visited the club. Through conversations with Mama Etsuko, they reflected on the 33rd term and discussed their vision for the 34th term. During the conversations, the management answered questions such as “What moments do you find fun?” and “What do you think SUNNY SIDE UP GROUP will be like in 10 years?”
There were moments of laughter and moments of seriousness. Although we have opportunities to interact with executives regularly, through this kind of project, we were able to share the group’s overall direction and vision among members.
Following that was the “SUNNY AWARDS” segment, recognizing projects from the 33rd term. Projects that created “fun commotion” characteristic of SUNNY SIDE UP GROUP were selected as “Most Valuable Fun Commotion (MVT).” We recognized 10 projects from the 33rd term!
■What Are Your “Fun Moments”?
At the end of the event, we screened a portrait video of our members. We had taken photographs of each group member in advance and compiled them together.
The theme was “What are your ‘fun moments’?” Each person wrote their “fun moments” on a board and posed for photos as they wished. “Moments when everyone is laughing,” “Playing with my children,” “A beer after work,” “When ideas come to me,” “Pretty much always (laughs)”… Many “fun moments” were displayed on the screen.
At the end of the video, all the portrait photos came together to form the sunny-side up logo. We were reminded that small “fun moments” come together to create one big “fun commotion”! I found myself moved and absorbed in the video.

Through this project that spotlighted each individual member, we were able to share anew how each person approaches their work and life.
SUNNY SIDE UP GROUP has over 300 members domestically and nearly 500 members worldwide. Our “fun commotion” has only just begun. We look forward to working with you in our 34th term!
