Ahead of International Women’s Day on March 8, we held an in-house event, “Premium Woman Day”!

This Sunday is “International Women’s Day,” known worldwide as a day to reflect on women’s ways of life and to express gratitude to women.
Although the number of supporting companies and organizations—and related events—is gradually increasing, awareness in Japan remains low.
Against this backdrop, since last year, as one of SUNNY SIDE UP’s unique employee benefits under the “32 Programs,” we have designated March 8 as “Premium Woman Day”! This initiative is also part of the “SSU’s Social Action 3.2 for SDGs” announced last year. You can see last year’s event here.
Highlights from 2019
This year, we designated Friday, March 6—just ahead of International Women’s Day—as “Premium Woman Day,” and held an in-house initiative to give hardworking women a “slightly special Friday”!
The gifts were provided with the support of companies that shared our desire to make “International Women’s Day” a new cultural tradition in Japan. We would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude to animus, The Westin Tokyo, Uber Japan, JANAT, Jetset, and Palace Hotel Tokyo (in Japanese alphabetical order), as well as all other companies that cooperated with us.
In addition, SUNNY SIDE UP presented bills dining vouchers.

And then, at last, it was “Premium Woman Day”! Taking recent social conditions into account, we contacted the winners individually this time. As we were also in a telework promotion period, we handed the gifts directly only to the winning members who happened to be in the office on business!

From bills, operated by SSU: dinner course + free-flow meal vouchers for two
And, incredibly, all members received a gift of tea from JANAT.
JANAT supports women’s empowerment (building the ability to carve out one’s own life) in sympathy with the activities of the Femmes du monde Foundation, and aims to create a world in which women can lead fulfilling lives by improving their work and living environments. Together, they have launched various projects to promote women’s growth. It was truly the perfect gift for International Women’s Day.
