Hello, this is SUNNY-chan from Public Relations!

The air outside is getting colder and colder recently, and we are finally in full-fledged winter mode! During this time of the year having warm drinks during my everyday working time is a must. My daily working routine starts off with warming myself up with a delicious café latte using my original SUNNY SIDE UP bottle.

Just by using a reusable ‘My Bottle’ instead of a disposable cup like this, anyone can participate in eco-friendly activities!

Click down below to learn more about the “GO GREEN PROJECT”, a project to promote sustainable activities anyone can do at their office at any time, including the use of your own ‘my bottle’!

“Start with something small, one at a time! GO GREEN PROJECT”, a project to encourage sustainability promotion activities for companies and workers, has started!

Today, I am pleased to announce the start of a new social good series!

Good&Co.,Inc. a new company established under the slogan “Promoting solutions for social issues through the power of PR”, and the SDG’s PR Strategy Team, newly established under SSU’s three sports bureaus, are pleased to announce the start of a new social good series! The members of the team, as PR specialists involved in social good activities, will begin a series of promoting articles on SDGs-related contents!

As this is part 0 for the SDG series, I would like to start by reflecting upon the history of all events, campaigns, activities connected with SDGs that SUNNY SIDE UP has participated in.

The “White Band Project.” A pioneering social campaign that swept across Japan.

This campaign started in Japan around mid-May in 2005 after being inspired by the ‘White Bands’ campaign in the United Kingdom. The sensational message, “One child dies every three seconds due to poverty,” moved many people and the white band was an item to express their will and support for no poverty. The “White Bands” eventually sold over 6 million in Japan, and ended as a great success.

For further details on the ‘White Bands’ project, check these articles down below!

What is the “deep relationship” between the SDGs and SUNNY SIDE UP? The history of “White Bands” and the “SDGs MAGAZINE” is unraveled!

The ‘Carbon Offset New Year’s Greeting Card’, a Social Contribution Project Symbolic of the New Japan Post Group

Carbon offset is an action to compensate for the emission of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere due to human activity to practically zero for the entire planet by paying an amount equivalent to the amount of carbon dioxide emitted to clean energy development projects and forest protection and afforestation activities.

By combining carbon offsetting with New Year’s cards, which everyone has the opportunity to receive at least once a year, we can create opportunities for people to wonder “What is carbon offsetting? and by creating an opportunity for people to find out, it became an opportunity for many people to become aware of social good activities.

Social contribution x music event “RockCorps”

“RockCorps” was the first music festival in Japan to offer participants the chance to attend a live performance by a well-known artist if they volunteered at least 4 hours of their time! The total hours of work ultimately amounted to 17,912 hours, and the event became a hot topic as a new music festival that stimulated volunteer activities while having fun.

“TOKYO RAINBOW PRIDE” parade, one of Asia’s largest LGBTQ-related events

Every year, thousands of people participate in the “Pride Parade,” marching through the streets of Shibuya with rainbow flags, dressed up in their own costumes! This event aims to spread awareness to create a society where people can live to be more free and feel positive and confident about themselves no matter who they are.

“W society”, a project to design women’s activities from the perspectives of both mental and physical issues (W) and social issues (society).

“W society” is a social participation project in which the SUNNY SIDE UP GROUP participates, aiming for a society in which all women can build a satisfying and fulfilling lifestyle.

Live YouTube Q&A streams were held where people can ask questions to ambassadors and doctors about women’s body concerns such as the AMH test (a type of hormone test for women reflecting ovarian reserve capacity), menstrual pain, and the birth control pills.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing some of the many social good activities of the SUNNY SIDE UP GROUP I have introduced today.

As a member of the group of PR specialists who are involved in social good activities, I am looking forward to sending out more information about SSU’s social activities on our SDG series. Please stay tuned!
