Professor Side’s PR Course (Nice to Meet You)
In this series, Professor Side and various guests discuss PR.
This memorable first installment features Professor Side’s self-introduction.
(A very cute dog also makes an appearance!)

This is not Professor Side
Hello, I am Professor Side of SUNNY SIDE UP.
I will be launching “Professor Side’s PR Course” in this series for students aspiring to enter the PR industry and corporate PR professionals.
While this is a beginner-level course, I intend to help you develop both PR knowledge and sensibility. Thank you for your interest.
First, let me introduce myself. I am a PR professional in my 29th year in the industry.
My hobbies include dogs, cooking, horse racing, and visiting public baths. I also love drinking.

The Professor’s beloved dog
Having spent nearly 30 years in the PR industry, I feel that the field has become considerably more mainstream over the past decade.
When I was young, PR companies had low recognition even within the media, and the industry was considered somewhat mysterious. In those days, there were no smartphones or computers—not even word processors (many people may not know what those are… embarrassing)—but the process of writing news releases and contacting newspapers, magazines, and television remains the same today as it was then.
I hope that by sharing my experience and knowledge here, and by analyzing and presenting the current state of the PR industry and PR business, I can contribute to the industry’s continued development.
(I am humbled by this opportunity, but I hope to make even a small contribution…)
The theme of this memorable first installment is “the difference between PR and advertising.”
Until next time.
From the PR Team
Professor Side also appears on our company’s PR Twitter account, so please check that out as well. (But Professor! No matter how much you love horse racing, you cannot post horse racing information on the PR Twitter account…)
