A new district, “OIMACHI TRACKS,” has opened in Oimachi! Our PR team picks and introduces the highlights
Hello, everyone. I’m Baba from SUNNY SIDE UP.
This March, a mixed-use complex opened in Oimachi—featuring offices, a hotel, residences, shops & restaurants, a cinema complex, plazas, and more—a place to eat, play, and relax called “OIMACHI TRACKS.”
SUNNY SIDE UP handles PR for the entire complex and has managed media relations for special construction site tours, media previews, and the opening ceremony. In this report, I, the PR representative, will introduce the appeal of this new facility!
What is OIMACHI TRACKS?

“OIMACHI TRACKS” is a district created through true “co-creation,” working hand in hand with local businesses and government.
It is not simply a “shopping destination.” With high-quality offices, a hotel, and even the first serviced residence by the JR East Group, it is a place where people who “play, work, and live” intersect and enjoy enriching experiences. While inheriting the history of Oimachi, it marks the dawn of a new era—a mixed-use complex perfectly suited to our times.
New “Tracks Exit” ticket gate opens! Direct station access, convenient even on rainy days

To coincide with the opening in March, a new ticket gate called “Tracks Exit” was established at JR Oimachi Station!
Once you pass through the gate, you are already on the third-floor deck of the facility. Right in front of you is a plaza called “STATION PLAZA.” The station and the district are seamlessly connected, making it remarkably smooth for those using strollers, shopping on rainy days, or traveling to the hotel. This sense of “blending into the district” is a feature you must experience for yourself!
Exciting just to walk through! Three plazas with distinct character
Within the facility are three lush green plazas that feel far removed from the city center. These are not merely rest areas—they also serve as “gathering spaces” where events are held in collaboration with the local community.
In fact, these three plazas also support “community safety.” “TRACKS PARK” and the surrounding publicly accessible open spaces are designated as “wide-area evacuation sites.” In the event of a large-scale disaster, these plazas will serve as evacuation areas to ensure the safety of visitors and local residents and to establish a rapid support system.
TRACKS PARK

The main plaza boasts an impressive area of approximately 4,600 m²!
Surrounded by greenery, you can relax with your dog at a café or enjoy self-service BBQ where you can grill meat on the spot. Experience an outdoor atmosphere while staying in the city.
STATION PLAZA

This station-front plaza of approximately 1,000 m² spreads out right in front of the new ticket gate. It is perfect for meeting up, and from the north terrace, you can look down on the Yamanote Line train depot! It can accommodate up to 41 Yamanote Line train sets. The panoramic view is sure to impress, even for those who are not railway enthusiasts.
CROSS PLAZA

A plaza of approximately 3,400 m² located at the center of the facility. It is the junction where offices, the hotel, and commercial facilities intersect, brimming with the energy of people moving east, west, north, and south through the district. It is truly a place where you can feel the “heartbeat of Oimachi.”
Illuminating Oimachi at night! Light and video entertainment “OIMACHI TRACKS LIGHT TRAIL”

Following the daytime bustle, a projection mapping event called “OIMACHI TRACKS LIGHT TRAIL” is being held to vividly illuminate “OIMACHI TRACKS” at night.
Taking place across the three plazas—TRACKS PARK, CROSS PLAZA, and STATION PLAZA—it runs for a limited time until June 1 (Mon) (daily from 18:00 to 23:00). After shopping or dinner, please experience this enchanting nighttime entertainment!
History into the future! The “original brick depot wall” appears on the first floor

To experience the history of Oimachi, be sure to visit the north rotary on the first floor. A section (approximately 40 m) of the brick depot wall built in 1915 has been relocated and preserved. Recycled bricks and other materials from that era, including steel sashes, have been reused, and the texture of the bricks, recreated by skilled craftsmen, quietly tells the story of Oimachi as a district that has grown alongside the railway.
Continuous creation of new value! Plenty of other content as well
Beyond what we have introduced here, OIMACHI TRACKS is overflowing with appeal, including “SHOPS & RESTAURANTS” featuring 81 stores, “Hotel Metropolitan Oimachi Tracks” where you can experience views of the train depot, local gourmet delights, and experiences you can only find here.
“OIMACHI TRACKS,” where history and new culture intersect. We invite you to visit and enjoy many unprecedented experiences.
