[New Series] Planning Recipes from SSU Planners! Episode 1: “80% of Planning is Determined by ‘Organization'”

Hello.
I’m Planner Y, and I’ll be in charge of this series starting today.

My daily routine consists of an endless loop of listening to briefs ⇒ creating plans ⇒ giving presentations, 365 days a year (laughs). In this series, I hope to share “planning recipes” focusing on creating plans, conducting meetings, and presentation tips.
Yoshida-san eyecatchThe theme of Episode 1 is “How to Create Plans.”

What steps do you take when developing a plan?
Do you think “planning = ideas”?

That’s incorrect.

“Planning = organization and solutions.”

Particularly, 80% of planning is determined during the organization phase. In other words, once you learn how to organize to a certain extent, even those who lack confidence in their “idea generation skills” can create plans.

Organization primarily refers to the following seven elements:

By organizing and articulating these elements, the “challenge” that truly needs to be addressed becomes clear. When connected into a narrative, it looks like this:

To achieve “1. Objective,” this communication will focus on “2. Goal.”
Considering “3. Market,” strongly emphasizing “6. Strengths” to “5. Target” will lead to
differentiation from/competitive advantage over “4. Competition.” Additionally, by approaching through “7. Contact Points,” we aim to achieve maximum effectiveness.

The key points are:
① Fill in all seven organizational elements without omission.
② Connect the seven elements into a single coherent narrative.

This itself can serve as a “planning strategy,” and more importantly, by clarifying the direction of ideas that need to be considered, generating ideas becomes significantly easier. If you read publicly available online data and related publications, “organization” can be completed in surprisingly little time, so please give it a try!

In the next episode, I hope to write about key points for “creating PR stories.”

Thank you for your attention.
