Get a Glimpse of Each Member’s Personality!? We Held “Poached Egg,” a Meeting Where Everyone Shares the Trends They’re Interested In!

Hello, I’m Kameyama from the Planning Department.

We recently held a morning meeting called “Poached Egg,” where participants share the latest trends and topics that caught their attention, so I’ll be reporting on how it went!

What is “Poached Egg” anyway?
It’s a very casual gathering where volunteer members from different departments and age groups come together to share recent news and trends that each person has brought, allowing everyone to “become knowledgeable!” In fact, even our president attends every time.

As the person writing this blog, I joined SUNNY SIDE UP last November and still haven’t memorized everyone in the company yet, so I participated in this excellent opportunity to talk with people I don’t usually work with. About 10 people gathered this time, and we shared the topics each person brought while chatting casually. Since there are no restrictions on topics, I thought it was a wonderful meeting where everyone’s personality shines through.

SUNNY SIDE UP’s strong core value of “Let’s Have Fun!” is made up of branches and leaves of “fun” that point in different directions for each member. This time, I was able to catch a glimpse of those branches and leaves, which was very interesting as a new member!

Now, I’d like to share a few topics from this meeting that personally caught my attention!

RoBoHoN Conducts Robot Matchmaking Party Where Conversations Are Handled by Proxy

The concept is that robots have conversations on behalf of participants at a matchmaking party, and apparently people who aren’t good at conversation can understand their potential partners better this way… The robots introduce each participant’s pre-inputted profile to one another, and there’s potential for AI technology to be incorporated in the future.

I can only see the party through images in the article, but it’s quite a surreal scene. VTubers are popular now, but perhaps in the future we’ll attend matchmaking parties with avatars we’ve created ourselves.

A Mysterious Startup Is Born That Roasts Coffee Beans in Space

The system involves launching a rocket loaded with coffee beans into space and roasting them with the heat of atmospheric reentry. Apparently, atmospheric reentry heat is suitable for roasting coffee, but I’m in awe of the imagination that connected atmospheric reentry with coffee roasting in the first place. To generate sales as a business, the price would apparently be over 10,000 yen per cup, so it’s interesting to wonder how much value the romance of space can add to coffee.

Store Featuring “Next-Generation Appliances” Opens for Limited Time in Omotesando, Tokyo

Good news for those who have the problem of not having a place to experience products that have been commercialized through crowdfunding and other means. A pop-up store featuring next-generation appliances was held in Omotesando for a limited time until March 11 (Monday). With appliances especially, it’s difficult to make a purchase decision just by looking at them online without actually touching them, so this kind of venue is appreciated by both creators and users.

[2] Hotels and facilities are areas where SUNNY SIDE UP has many achievements, and a hotel with an interesting concept has opened!

Capsule hotels are a Japanese-originated accommodation format that is attracting attention from overseas. Additionally, ZEN is popular in Europe and America, and a capsule hotel incorporating that philosophy and Japanese aesthetics has opened in Ningyocho. Capsule hotels don’t typically have a stylish image, but looking at the website, the design is refined and the facility overturns the image of capsule hotels. If you have business nearby on a business trip or otherwise, please visit.

Job Hunting Season Begins! Publishing Entry Sheets of Students Who Passed Selection at Popular Companies.

Both initiatives stem from improvements to Japan’s current job hunting situation.
The first, by cosmetics manufacturer Isehan, involves seeing students’ true selves through makeup that expresses their individuality.
The second, by job hunting review site ONE CAREER, was implemented with the intention of allowing students to spend time facing their career paths positively, since current job hunting doesn’t allow much time for essential matters.

Both are initiatives that brilliantly address the discomfort that has persisted in job hunting, and they’re generating buzz online. Initiatives that are viewed favorably by society spread in a positive way on social media, which is very educational.
