Honoring the most impactful articles and members of the year! With a new structure now underway, our owned media “SUNNY DAYS” is more powerful than ever!
Hello! I am Hino from Sports Division 3, in charge of technology for the official owned media “SUNNY DAYS.”
Now then, SUNNY SIDE UP has entered a new fiscal year as of July!
≫ Highlights from the start-of-term presentation ([The 37th Term Begins] Group Start-of-Term Presentation Report! This term’s theme is “Group Synergy”)
It has already been half a year since we renewed our blog as the official owned media “SUNNY DAYS” in conjunction with the office’s grand reopening last November.
Personally, I think the best part has been being able to communicate through this owned media with various members across different divisions.
At the start-of-term presentation, the editorial team announced the “SUNNY DAYS AWARDS,” selected at our own discretion.

The other day, we had the pleasure of presenting two award winners with wonderful prizes provided by President Tsugihara! We will introduce them together with their acceptance comments.

The two “SUNNY DAYS AWARDS” winners. Mr./Ms. Ya participated online.
Award Winners
☆ Most Buzz-Worthy Award… Recognizing the article/member that generated the greatest response, such as page views and reactions on social media
Division 1: Mr. Taiki Sakama
9th-Year Employee Interview | Why I Joined SUNNY SIDE UP Vol. 2
Acceptance comment: “What made me happiest was that even friends I’m connected with on Facebook reacted to it. I’ve been with the company for a long time, but it was the first time I’d received this much response, so I was really happy (laughs). The article also gave me an opportunity to look back on my career. It made me realize again how much SUNNY SIDE UP has changed over the nine years since I joined as a new graduate. Thank you very much!”
☆ Best Writing Award… Recognizing the member whose articles were outstanding based on an overall assessment of content and writing
Sports Division 3: Ms. Yumi Ya *Department at time of writing: Global Communication Department
Step Into an Illustrated Encyclopedia!? Introducing the New Experiential Digital Museum “ZUKAN MUSEUM GINZA,” Opening This Summer
Acceptance comment: “I was surprised because I never expected to receive an award, but thank you very much! Usually, I’m on the side of having media professionals write articles, but this time I wrote from the opposite perspective—thinking about how media professionals feel—so it was a great learning experience. Going forward, I hope to share information about projects related to social good and the SDGs that I’m interested in as well!”
*Please note that ZUKAN MUSEUM GINZA opened on Friday, July 16!

Which members and what articles will win in Term 3? Please look forward to it!

And this term, “SUNNY DAYS” will aim to level up even further in terms of content as well!
To make that happen, cooperation from SUNNY SIDE UP members is essential. With that in mind, we held the first initiative: the “1st SUNNY DAYS Brainstorming Session.”
For this session, we invited all employees—about 190 people—beyond just the editorial team, and recruited participants!

While we could not have everyone meet face-to-face, we held it in a hybrid online/offline format and had far more members participate than expected, allowing us to gather many ideas.
Here are some ideas—just a few—that may be realized in the future…
・The SUNNY DAYS editorial team conducts on-the-spot interviews at various companies!
—We will ask about PR topics and challenges, and turn those conversations into articles! (If you would like us to visit you or would like us to hear your story, please contact us via the inquiry form.)
・“Precisely because it’s now”—members who know SUNNY SIDE UP’s past talk about those days
—SUNNY SIDE UP’s history since 1985 must be filled with many hardships and memories! We will dig up stories that can be put to use precisely because it’s now!
・Make the most of SUNNY SIDE UP’s employee benefits, “32 Benefits,” and report on a fulfilling SUNNY SIDE UP life!
—When you think of SUNNY SIDE UP, you think of the employee benefits “32 Benefits.” We will report on members who are actually using them!
・SUNNY DAYS’ official mascot!? “Tamako Diary”
—”Tamako,” a LOVOT that freely strolls around the office floor, will share daily life at SUNNY SIDE UP!
・Challenge project: “A SUNNY SIDE UP PR planner seriously tried launching an SNS account”
—Members of a PR company seriously produce an SNS presence! What kind of results will it bring…?
In addition, we will consider a site design refresh and more, using participants’ impressions of the owned media as reference!

With that, under our newly appointed editor-in-chief—quietly, you might say?—and with younger editorial members joining, we will deliver even more information about “fun commotion”!
☆ By the way, since “A delicious lunch is essential for fun conversations!” we prepared tasty lunch boxes from NY Cafe for the brainstorming session participants!

Yuichi Hino
After starting out as an engineer, I jumped into the sports industry, and after many twists and turns joined SUNNY SIDE UP—now in my fifth year. I mainly watch sports. The sports I watch most are basketball and rugby. I am a self-proclaimed (in-house) rare character who finds programming languages easier to write than English. Rumor has it I was suddenly appointed Sunny Days CTO (Cheif Techical Officer) by the new editor-in-chief.
