Today, in order to brighten up the mood, I am going to introduce facilities that can be enjoyed even in the rain. You can enjoy hot springs that will help you feel refreshed and relaxed!
Speaking of hot springs, Beppu Onsen in Oita Prefecture is the most famous hot spring in Japan in terms of both the number and volume of hot springs. On January 26, a new building, “SORA KAN,” the flagship of the large-scale hot spring resort Beppu Onsen Suginoi Hotel, opened. In this issue, I am going to report on this new “SORA KAN” building!

◼️Enjoy the panoramic view! Outlook open-air bath “Sorayu”
Beppu Onsen Suginoi Hotel opened its flagship building “SORA KAN” on January 26. Named after the image of “the endless space above the sky,” the name “Sorokan” symbolizes the evolution of the new Suginoi Hotel, which will expand its horizons to an even greater world.
Since its opening in 1944, Suginoi Hotel has been one of western Japan’s leading large-scale hot spring resorts for nearly 80 years as a large-scale hot spring resort hotel with a wide range of entertainment options including a large outdoor hot spring bath, swimming pool, bowling alley, fountain show, projection mapping, and kids’ land.
After announcing a major renewal project in 2019, new facilities such as the Space Pavilion and other entertainment content has been sequentially constructed for the grand opening of the new Suginoi Hotel in 2025!

“Sorayu” is an open-air bath with a spectacular view on the top floor, 250 meters above sea level, and is available only for guests of the SORA KAN. Open views can also be enjoyed from the indoor baths and sauna, which have glass walls. The cityscape of Beppu, Beppu Bay, Mt. Tsurumidake, and Kannawa onsen, are the attractions of Beppu that change with the seasons and the time of day!

The menu also includes a wide variety of dishes for both children and adults, from Japanese cuisine such as sushi and sashimi to Chinese food. I was especially excited by the Mont Blanc cake, which the patissier made right in front of me!

“Blue sea” theme color rooms (deluxe) inspired by the Beppu Bay
Designed to express the rich natural surroundings of Beppu’s ocean and mountains, and featuring large windows, the guest rooms offer a sense of openness that only a resort can provide. There are five types of rooms with three theme colors: blue sea, forest, and calm evening, all inspired by Beppu’s nature.

The deluxe room I stayed in had “blue sea” as its theme color and a large window overlooking the Beppu cityscape and the sea! I would like to stay in a suite room someday, which I have always dreamed of.
