Shiori Yamaguchi(PR Dept. Account Planning Div.)

Hello! My name is Shiori Yamaguchi from the Account Planning Department.

This might be sudden, but I have three personal goals for 2022, which I would love to share. Could you hear me out?

❶ I will not buy things before thinking of a place in my room where I can place them.
❷ I will be more careful when making decisions.
❸I will push for things when I can, and be willing to take more risks.

I often like to set goals for myself to gradually achieve them while I enjoy my private and work life, but the one thing that has been a challenge for me to achieve is goal ❷!

I am the kind of person who buys cookbooks but ends up ignoring the recipes, and every time I end up making a funky flavored meal, It makes me realize that it’s important to find a balance between being a little sloppy and being careful with everything. Maybe being “sloppy” is actually not as bad as it seems!

Continuing with the talk of “bring sloppy” I went to a preview of the “Tekito-na RailwayExhibition,” which SUNNY SIDE UP is promoting, and I would like to share with you all its charms!

Probably the first of its kind in Japan?! What is the “Tekito-na Railway Exhibition”?

※”Tekito~”(=a little sloppy)

The “Tekito~na Railway Exhibition” will be held from August 6 (Sat) to November 27 (Sun), 2022 at “YOKOHAMA COAST” on the 2nd floor of the “ASOBUILD”.

The Japanese railroads may have a strong image of their strictly on time trains and the politeness of the railroad staff. This theme park is a place where not only both children and adults can enjoy the inherent charms of the railroads, but also a place where visitors can feel “Tekito~”(=a little sloppy), a little freedom from the rules and restrictions of daily life.

T museum Inc. an up-and-coming creative company that has created the popular “Poop Museum,” which has been visited by a total of approximately 800,000 people, and Blue MUSE Co.,Ltd., a company that operates and develops entertainment themed content, has collaborated on this project and has opened this “Tekito~na Railway Exhibition” theme park!

Starting from the entrance, I received a mysteriously shaped tickets from the ticket machine!

Once I entered the 1,000㎡site, the site was filled with contents designed for visitors to enjoy the “Tekito~” world. After passing through the ticket gate, the first thing I saw was the “Tekito Central Station. There were electronic billboards and information boards just like in a real station, but everything that was written and announced was all “Tekito~”.

At the Tekito Central Station, there was a crowd of children at the booth where illustrations you draw can be projected on a huge projection mapping screen, coming in just like a real station.

Each of the five stations and the train line that runs through the center all has its own unique concept of “tekito~”!

<Tekito~Line>

Firstly, I will be introducing the “Tekito~ Line” running through the center of the exhibition!

The “tekito~ Line”running through the middle of the line included many stomach ache jokes with the concept of being lazy and “tekito~” such as “Part-time job? I’ll go if I feel like it.” or “The company only works as a business because I skip work.”

The passengers on the “tekito~ line” are of course also “tekito~”. Helmets, leeks, beetles, maid uniforms… everything on display are actual items that people left behind on trains!

<Mecha-komi Square Station> (Super Cramped Square Station)

Crowded trains are something we all want to avoid and not want to experience every morning. But ironically, at the Tekkito~na Railway Mecha Komi Square Station, you can enjoy this extremely crowded train too! The installation features a variety of people, including university students, office workers, and grandmothers, all dressed and posed in their own unique ways. You can even doodle on these people!

There is also a place where you can make your original pictogram. I tried my best to pose to look as tacky as possible:)

<Ekiben Town Station>

This is the station where you can make your very own original “ekiben”! (A Japanese bento specifically only sold by the train station). Various obento ingredients, and other bento goods appears as stamps, allowing you to choose what ingredients you want to use to create your own special “ekiben”.

It was very clear from looking at my ideal bento box that I had been craving takoyaki for several days. The only vegetable I added was that one oddly looking shiso leaves… but wouldn’t you buy an “ekiben” like this if you saw one!! haha

<Game Station>

Next I went to a game corner that can be enjoyed by both children and adults. I tried playing the “Railway Master” game, in which you become a station attendant and judge passengers who violate railroad etiquette, and the “Railway Master II” game, in which you try to pile as many “you”s as possible onto the train. Both were very fun!!!

This one was surprisingly difficult…

After I cleared the game I received an award of an “expert of tekkito~”!

<TETSUDO-BUTSU PARK Station> (Railroad animal park station)

The last station I visited was the one where the most exquisite animals appeared. It was very interesting to see them all look very sleepy following the concept of tekkito~. I was very excited to hear you can lie down on the net in front of the station and even take a rest! Seeing the “Tetsudo-butsu” living freely definitely made me feel a lot more relaxed and think, “Why not take a break once in a while!”

There were so many “Tetsudo-butsu” characters which were very fun to look at. My personal favorite character was “Chien,” a motorman that is super lazy and always arrives late.

This exhibition teaches us an important lesson that sometimes it’s important to take breaks and feel more loose and casual.

The “Tekito~na Railway Exhibition” is  appropriate in every way. You may chuckle at unexpected announcements, play games, or say, “Oh, I made a mistake! Oh well! or “Oh, I made a mistake! There were many moments of relaxation.

In this day and age where it is so easy for us to face so many hardships, it is important to be cautious and serious, but being serious all the time can be tiring and sometimes not fun at all! The theme park was such a place where you could be freed from the rules and constraints of everyday life! Starting tomorrow, I will continue to live my life as freely as I always have!

Maybe it’s time for a summer vacation getaway to a place where you can feel a little more “free”! You may want to go and experience the “Tekito~” as a summer vacation destination! For more information, please visit the website below! I hope you enjoy yourself!
