Masakiyo Maezono, “Japan’s Representative for Sweets-loving Men,” supervises four dessert items for the first time!

We are pleased to announce that Masakiyo Maezono, a talent represented by our company and well-known as a “sweets-loving man,” has supervised his first-ever dessert line in collaboration with Lopia Co., Ltd., a company that plans, manufactures, and sells chilled products for convenience stores and supermarkets!

Masakiyo Maezono has long expressed his boundless love for desserts through his own blog and various media outlets. Having been featured in women’s magazines recommending sweets, he is now widely regarded as “Japan’s Representative for Sweets-loving Men.” In this collaboration, he supervised four dessert items targeted at men in their 30s and 40s, providing full-scale production—from factory inspections and naming to package design, ingredient selection, and prototype tasting. Two items have been on pre-sale at FamilyMart since May 31, and three items will be available at supermarkets nationwide for a limited time starting July 1!
In this article, we would like to introduce the sweets produced by Maezono for the first time!
◆ Fluffy Tiramisu Ball
This dessert features chocolate sponge cake soaked in coffee syrup, milk coffee mousse, and whipped cream, topped with a dome-shaped custard mousse containing cheese paste and finished with a dusting of cocoa powder.
◆ Mellow Coffee Gelee
Chocolate mousse and whipped cream containing jelly are layered between two types of coffee jelly. The product is presented in a faceted cup, making it visually appealing.
◆ White Coffee Cream Puff
A fragrantly baked cream puff shell is filled with a signature fluffy white coffee whipped cream.
◆ Adult Coffee Pudding
To emphasize the coffee flavor while keeping the sweetness moderate, this pudding contains a higher proportion of coffee than standard coffee puddings, all while achieving a smooth texture.
All four products offer a subtle sweetness, rich coffee flavor, and a slightly luxurious appearance. They are “adult desserts” that can be enjoyed not only by men but also by women who prefer bitter-sweet treats!
Maezono took on this challenge with the desire to “encourage as many men of his generation as possible to enjoy sweets.” These products are packed with his ideas and his hope that the desserts he supervised will provide a moment of relaxation for both men and sweets-loving women alike.
He is so passionate about this project that he even declared, “If these don’t sell, I will keep supervising until we create a product that sells out!” (laughs).
FamilyMart Pre-sale Products (May 31 – June 27)
Prior to the general release, two products—the “Fluffy Tiramisu Ball” (¥250 including tax) and “Mellow Coffee Gelee” (¥198 including tax)—are available for a limited time from Tuesday, May 31 to Friday, June 27 at FamilyMart stores nationwide (excluding Hokkaido and Okinawa).

Supermarket Products (July 1 – July 31)
From Friday, July 1 to Sunday, July 31, three products—the “Fluffy Tiramisu Ball,” “White Coffee Cream Puff,” and “Adult Coffee Pudding”—will be sold at supermarkets. (All items are open-priced).
While the “Fluffy Tiramisu Ball” is currently on pre-sale at FamilyMart, the other two items will be available starting in July. We can’t wait!
