The rainy season has ended and it’s suddenly gotten hot, making us crave something cold. Today, we’re bringing you a cool topic perfect for this season (^^)

On Friday, July 31st, the limited-time pop-up store “ICE MONSTER FINAL YEAR POP UP” opened at “jing,” a commercial facility in front of Harajuku Station, featuring “ICE MONSTER,” a Taiwanese shaved ice dessert brand offering a new texture experience. *Operated by:Transit General Office Inc.

ICE MONSTER is a Taiwanese shaved ice dessert brand offering a new texture experience that was selected as one of the “World’s Best Sweets TOP 10.” It is made by shaving “flavor ice blocks” that concentrate the flavors of ingredients, providing special shaved ice with not only the fluffy texture characteristic of Taiwanese shaved ice but also rich, intense flavors.

Sunny-chan visited on opening day, so we’ll report on the experience right away!

Right after exiting the newly renovated JR Harajuku Station, you’ll see “jing,” a commercial facility operated by SUNNY SIDE UP GROUP.

This pop-up store is set up as a food truck in front of the jing building. It’s the perfect location for a quick stop when shopping in Harajuku or Omotesando! The pop color scheme is very summery.

On this summer day, Sunny-chan ordered the staff’s top recommendation, “Mango & Strawberry Shaved Ice” (850 yen including tax). It’s served in an original cup for easy eating, allowing you to enjoy it casually.

A luxurious item perfect for those who want to enjoy both the No.1 popular “Mango Shaved Ice” and the “Strawberry Shaved Ice” loved by adults and children alike. The delicately shaved ice is layered many times over, and you can imagine the fluffy texture even before eating!

Taking a bite, it melts smoothly in your mouth in an instant—truly a new texture experience! Both the mango and strawberry have irresistibly rich flavors. As you continue eating, you’ll find plenty of fresh mango fruit inside, providing a nice accent!

Other options include “Mango Shaved Ice” (790 yen including tax) and “Strawberry Shaved Ice” (750 yen including tax), so you can enjoy your favorite flavor!

We were able to visit with peace of mind, as proper measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 were in place, including disinfection of facilities and ensuring social distancing in the dining area.

Since its arrival in Japan in 2015, ICE MONSTER has been popular mainly among young people, but with this limited-time pop-up store, this will be the final sale in Japan.

It’s scheduled to run until Monday, August 31st, so take this final opportunity to enjoy the new texture shaved ice!
