From Hawaii’s North Shore! RAY’S “Huli Huli Chicken,” which draws long lines even in Hawaii, finally makes its Japan debut this summer!

Hello, this is M from the PR Department.

Today, we would like to introduce a much-talked-about restaurant making its Japan debut, for which we handled the PR.

On Saturday, July 1, 2017, the highly popular RAY’S—affectionately known in Hawaii for its “Huli Huli Chicken”—opened for a limited time until Thursday, August 31, at a beach house in Yuigahama, Kamakura!

Huli Huli Chicken is a dish where whole chickens are roasted over charcoal while being rotated (“Huli Huli” means “to turn” in Hawaiian). Despite being open only on weekends in its home country, it is an incredibly popular dish that sells over 5,000 chickens a month, drawing crowds of both tourists and locals.

By rotating the chicken, the juices are distributed throughout the meat, resulting in a crispy skin and tender,
juicy meat—a masterpiece that will keep you coming back for more!

On the opening day, Saturday, July 1, there were few people on the beach
as it was still the rainy season. However, RAY’S beach house was so popular that it was fully packed with local customers and fans who knew the authentic taste!

On that day, RAY’S founder Ray Dantoku also visited from Hawaii and was delighted,
saying, “The taste and the shop’s design are both wonderful!”

At the newly opened Yuigahama location, the main chicken roasting area is situated at the front of the shop,
closest to the ocean, allowing visitors to witness the same dynamic roasting scene as in the North Shore!

The sight of whole chickens being roasted dynamically has become a hot topic on TV and social media, and there is no doubt that RAY’S “Huli Huli Chicken” will be the most talked-about beach house in Japan this summer!

The menu features a whole size (2,000 yen) and a half size (1,200 yen) to enjoy the same fragrant and juicy chicken as in Hawaii,
as well as a lunch plate (1,400 yen) that includes rice and coleslaw, a classic staple in its home country.

In addition to Huli Huli Chicken, the restaurant also offers popular Hawaiian delicacies such as garlic shrimp and loco moco.
