The first “bills” location in Kansai is now open! Do not miss the Osaka-only limited menu items.
Hello, this is Horikoshi from the bills japan PR team.
To all “bills” fans in the Kansai area, thank you for your patience!
Last week, on Friday, November 3 (public holiday), “bills Osaka”—the 8th bills location in Japan—finally opened on the 7th floor of LUCUA 1100, directly connected to Osaka Station.
It has not been long since opening, but we have already received a great deal of feedback from many guests. This time, we will thoroughly introduce the appeal of “bills Osaka,” which restaurateur Bill Granger also confidently recommends.

“bills Osaka” is directly connected to “Osaka Station,” which has the highest number of passengers on JR West, offering outstanding access unlike any other location. This location is also reflected in the interior concept: because the area is constantly bustling with people from morning to night, Bill Granger wanted guests visiting “bills” to enjoy a relaxed time, so the restaurant features a calm, sepia-toned atmosphere.

We also received comments from guests such as, “It is a stylish, relaxing restaurant—unlike anything Osaka has had before!”
And the biggest highlight of “bills Osaka” is the limited menu available only here!
As Bill Granger ate his way around Osaka, he experienced a variety of local “soul foods” firsthand. Inspired by this food culture, an impressive three limited menu items were created! Let us introduce each one in detail.

Tapioca chips w/ coriander yogurt, taramasalata ¥700
A menu inspired by Osaka’s famous “Awa Okoshi” and the Indian dish papad sago. bills’ take on a snack—turning “tapioca,” popular among young women for its chewy texture, into chips—expresses the individuality of Kansai through colorful chips. The chips come in five flavors: plain, squid ink, matcha, turmeric, and paprika. Two dipping sauces are also available: coriander yogurt and cod roe sauce. With 10 possible combinations of chips and sauces, you can enjoy a variety of pairings.

Grilled octopus w/ potato mousse, chive oil, bottarga ¥1,300
A dish inspired by “ikayaki” that Bill picked up in the food hall of a department store during a visit to Osaka. The octopus legs are tender and juicy while still pleasantly firm, making for a satisfying plate. The Greek skordalia (potato mousse) laid as the base features olive oil and garlic, with a smooth texture that adds a distinctive accent.

bills ‘takoyaki’ doughnuts w/ white chocolate, raspberry & vanilla cream, dried pineapple, matcha ¥800
We did not simply add Osaka’s famous takoyaki to the menu!!! Instead, we turned it into a playful dessert in true bills style. It looks exactly like takoyaki, but it is actually a fluffy doughnut. On top of a doughnut shaped to the same size as takoyaki, we generously add cassis sauce to resemble Otafuku sauce, and white chocolate sauce to resemble mayonnaise. Finish it with slices of dried pineapple like bonito flakes and a sprinkle of matcha powder like aonori, and the bills ‘takoyaki’ doughnuts are complete.

In fact, this Osaka limited menu was decided on just one month before opening, as we wondered if there was something we could do for guests who had been eagerly awaiting the opening of “bills Osaka.” Served from lunchtime, these Osaka limited items are premium dishes that can only be enjoyed at “bills Osaka”—even among bills locations worldwide. Not to be missed.

On opening day, which fell on a public holiday, guests began lining up from the first train to get numbered tickets, and by around 8:00 AM the line had grown to about 200 people.
Some passersby, puzzled by the sudden queue at Osaka Station, asked in surprise, “What is this line for?” Incidentally, at the very front of the line was a family—a parent and child—who said they had taken the first train to Osaka Station. Smiling, they told us, “We have been looking forward to a Kansai location for a long time, so we came on the first train from Ibaraki City in Osaka Prefecture and have been waiting since 5:30 AM. We are very happy to be able to enjoy bills in Osaka!”

And on opening day, as you can see, we were fully booked. To everyone who has already visited, thank you very much!
“bills Osaka” welcomes guests from 8:30 AM to 11:00 PM, morning, noon, and night. Whether you come for breakfast as part of your morning routine, enjoy lunch with friends, hold a business meeting, or have dinner with your family, the restaurant can accommodate a wide range of occasions. If you are stopping by Osaka Station, please visit us. We look forward to welcoming you!
