Editorial Recommendation: Indulge in a Full Gyoza Course 🥟 SHE meguro @ Meguro “GYOZA,” a Playground for Sophisticated Women! | Event Report
Hello! I am Kaneko, a second-year employee in the Public Relations Business Division, Department 1, and a member of the SUNNY DAYS Editorial Department.April means cherry blossom viewing! Did you all have a chance to go out and see the blossoms this spring?
The SUNNY DAYS Editorial Department has previously planned and hosted in-house events for Valentine’s Day and Christmas to bring seasonal cheer to the office. This spring, during an editorial meeting, someone mentioned, “I want to go see the cherry blossoms!” This led to an emergency “Editorial Meeting: Spring Edition 🌸.” We enjoyed cherry blossom viewing at a wonderful establishment (albeit indoors), and as the youngest member of the SUNNY DAYS Editorial Department, I, Kaneko, will provide this report. (As fleeting as a dream on a spring night, April is already coming to an end…)
As a second-year employee who loves delicious food and wine, I was intrigued by…a gyoza bistro that uses no garlic or chives and pairs perfectly with wine 🥟🍷.SHE meguroWe held our “Cherry Blossom Viewing Party” at✨With wine in hand, the editorial staff and a special guest—the President’s secretary—engaged in a candid and lively discussion!
A 7-minute walk from Meguro Station! A wonderful, hidden gem of a restaurant.
We visited SHE meguro, which had just held its pre-opening on Wednesday, April 20. Located a 7-minute walk from the West Exit of Meguro Station, down a quiet slope near the Meguro River, a very stylish building suddenly appeared…!

The entire four-story building was reportedly started by a married couple with the concept of being a “playground for sophisticated women.” With a worldview of “making the beginning and end of your day a little more wonderful,” it seems like it will become a place of healing for those of us who are usually busy with work.As if invited into a secret base, we entered through a small entrance with growing excitement to find a magnificent, large cherry blossom tree!

Making the beginning and end of your day a little more wonderful. The quiet and sophisticated space, perfectly fitting the concept of a “playground for sophisticated women,” sent the members’ spirits soaring.

Upon being shown to our seats, we found a beautiful table setting.
The theme of the course is “GYOZA.”Incredibly, all 10 dishes in the course are gyoza! By utilizing French and Italian techniques and conducting extensive research on the dough from appetizers to desserts, they have created stylish GYOZA that overturn the traditional concept of the dish. Since no garlic or chives are used, it is a kind consideration that allows you to eat without worry even if you have an important meeting the next day.✨
New and wonderful “GYOZA dishes” that redefine the concept of gyoza.
Among the creative menus that transcend Japanese and Western styles, here are the dishes that were particularly popular with the editorial staff.

Salad of Bitter Greens and Japanese Fruits with Citrus Vinaigrette Fried Gyoza

A dish featuring fried gyoza filled with chicken cartilage, accompanied by seasonal bitter greens such as radicchio and wasabi greens, garnished with Japanese citrus and enjoyed with an orange and Japanese mustard dressing. The combination of the crispy fried gyoza and the crunchy texture of the chicken cartilage is brand new! The balance of bitterness and acidity is also exquisite. For the pairing, we were served an orange wine that harmonizes with the citrus acidity.
Colorful Peking Duck Style Wrap with Homemade Black Miso Sauce

This is a Peking duck-style gyoza where you wrap steamed chicken mixed with colorful vegetables and homemade black miso in a steamed gyoza skin. The joy of “wrapping” is one of the charms of gyoza, isn’t it?
Steamed Tuna Gyoza

Steamed mountain yam gyoza topped with tuna marinated in a special fish sauce, served with foamed egg yolk soy sauce.I was moved by the new texture, which is neither carpaccio nor yukhoe. It pairs perfectly with sparkling wine, making it easy to keep drinking. The chef mentioned this was the gyoza he put the most effort into, and everyone at the table agreed it was a masterpiece.
Main Dish

A luxurious serving of Japanese Black Wagyu beef baked in a pie-style gyoza crust! The rich aroma of the chef’s special beet sauce and Japanese pepper oil was so appetizing that I finished it deliciously even at the end of the meal.In addition to the pairings of natural wines and sake recommended by the chef, the course offers a variety of options to match the food, including short pairings for those who are not strong drinkers or are wine beginners, as well as various fruit cocktails and craft beers.

Incidentally, some of the plates used for the dishes were handmade by the staff at SHE meguro and were also available for purchase.

We were captivated by the beautiful tableware.

Some members even purchased items with sparkling eyes, saying, “I want this!”

We were able to enjoy a new world of food through the pairing of various creative gyoza dishes and wine. The flavors were meticulously crafted, the presentation was delicate, and the harmony between the food and the tableware was superb.✨ It was a luxurious time spent with a wonderful course perfect for a cherry blossom viewing party.
The plan is to operate a members-only restaurant on the 2nd floor, a European tapas and wine bar on the 3rd floor, and a vacation home for up to six people on the 4th floor, with sequential openings scheduled from June onwards. We can’t wait for the opening!
Please be sure to visit SHE meguro! ✨
