A sneak peek at an in-house event! What is “Clase Azul,” a 100% agave premium tequila!? Experiencing the “finest tequila” together

Nice to meet you! I’m Shinbo from PR Division HQ, Department 1, Section 2. Now in my second year with the company, I was born and raised by the Sea of Japan, and I was recently moved by a tequila-and-sushi pairing.

Now in my third year as a working professional, I’ve recently discovered the pleasure of enjoying a slightly better drink. I’m Shinbo, in charge of PR for the Mexico-born premium tequila “Clase Azul,” and we recently held an in-house event where everyone could enjoy it!

At SUNNY SIDE UP, in order to help the world learn about our clients’ products and services, we first strive to understand what makes them great ourselves—thinking every day about how to reach people who do not yet know them and how to help them enjoy them.

Through these in-house events, we gather members’ opinions as everyday consumers and explore ways to enjoy the products—this is also an important part of our work.

Before we share what the day was like, may we ask: are you familiar with “Clase Azul”?

▼What is Clase Azul?

“CLASE AZUL” is Mexico’s first luxury brand that, through the art of tequila, conveys the true value of Mexico’s beauty and traditions and enriches lifestyles around the world.

To deliver high-quality craft tequila, the brand places great importance on continuing to uphold traditional methods passed down over many years, even today when mechanization has become the norm.

The eye-catching bottles are handmade—from shaping the ceramic to painting—and many of the staff involved in crafting the decanters are women from local communities.

Guided by the brand philosophy, “to become better human beings,” the company supports women’s empowerment through a variety of initiatives.

Given the persistent image of tequila as a party drink, many people may feel a bit hesitant. This time, with this year’s new graduates as the main audience, we held an in-house event under the theme: “Now that you’re a working professional, let’s move from tequila shots to savoring tequila in a glass—and take a step toward becoming a sophisticated adult!”

On the day, we were also joined by Ms. Mochizuki from Clase Azul’s PR team, who introduced the brand and its tequila.

Tequila is broadly divided into “premium tequila,” made with 100% blue agave, and “mixto tequila,” made with at least 51% blue agave, with the remainder produced by adding sugarcane-derived molasses and other ingredients.

Everyone was surprised to learn that most of the tequila we had drunk in the past—and had unpleasant experiences with—was “mixto tequila,” which is widely distributed in Japan.

While listening to the explanation, we tasted “Clase Azul,” a true “premium tequila”!

We fully enjoyed the distinctive flavors and aromas of a special tequila that we rarely have the chance to experience.

The aroma and taste are completely different! Two premium tequilas packed with craftsmanship make an appearance

On the day, we prepared two varieties: “Clase Azul Tequila Plata” and “Clase Azul Tequila Reposado.”

On the right in the photo, “Clase Azul Tequila Plata” features a fresh, crisp, and refreshing taste created by skilled artisans. It offers sweetness within its softness, delivering an appealing flavor that speaks to all five senses.

On the left in the photo, “Clase Azul Tequila Reposado” is made from slowly heated blue agave, creating an exceptionally rich flavor. It features an original taste with notes of hazelnut and vanilla derived from aging, along with a smooth mouthfeel.

100% agave premium tequila is not only delicious—it is also truly beautiful to look at…!

The ceramic bottle, decorated with traditional feather painting in cobalt blue, is handcrafted one by one and so captivating you will want to display it as interior décor.

We also prepared a one-day-only limited taco menu by“TACOS Shop IKEJIRI”!

In addition, we welcomed Chef Hoshi Minoru from the hugely popular “TACOS Shop IKEJIRI” in Ikejiri, Tokyo, and prepared a pairing of three special tacos created just for this day to match “Clase Azul,” along with tamales (Mexico’s version of chimaki).

Members were thrilled by the special menu you cannot even get at the restaurant!! The 100% corn tortillas were light, with whitebait and avocado, and the meat was juicy and generously portioned. We spent a highly satisfying time enjoying this luxurious pairing with Clase Azul tequila.

The event ended to great success!
