Hello! I’m official writer Kayoko Nishimura.

In recent years, Toranomon has seen a steady stream of new facilities and shops open, making the area even more appealing. “Toranomon Hills Station Tower,” which opened on October 6, is set to bring even more energy to the district. This time, we will share highlights from the media preview held ahead of the opening. We also had the opportunity to step inside “Hotel Toranomon Hills,” scheduled to open on December 6, which is not yet open to the public.

Innovative urban development is making it a new face of Tokyo.

Toranomon Hills has expanded and evolved from its starting point, “Toranomon Hills Mori Tower,” to include “Toranomon Hills Business Tower” and “Toranomon Hills Residential Tower.” With developments such as the creation of Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line’s “Toranomon Hills Station,” the public-private redevelopment is said to have progressed at an unprecedented speed. With the opening of “Toranomon Hills Station Tower,” a station-front plaza integrated with the city (the Station Atrium) has also been created—an open, airy space unlike anything found in conventional subway stations.

The spacious Station Atrium can even be seen from inside “Toranomon Hills Station.” It was truly impressive. This preview tour started from the B2F Station Atrium and showcased everything extensively, all the way up to the rooftop on the 49th floor.

The featured facility “TOKYO NODE” isan unprecedentedhub for sharing information.

First, we headed to “TOKYO NODE,” said to be the facility’s top recommended spot. Occupying floors 45 through 49, it brings together a wide range of fields—business, art, fashion, entertainment, technology, and more—collaborating beyond traditional boundaries. It will serve as a place to create new value and share content.

At the heart of it all is “TOKYO NODE HALL” on the 46th floor. Beyond the windows, a sweeping Tokyo view unfolds, including the Imperial Palace. It is exciting to imagine what will be created here in the future.

Immersive events will be held at “TOKYO NODE GALLERY A” with its dome-shaped ceiling, “TOKYO NODE GALLERY B” with its overwhelming sense of scale, and “TOKYO NODE GALLERY C.” Through November 12, the first opening commemorative program, ““Syn : New Horizons of Bodily Sensation” by Rhizomatiks × ELEVENPLAY,” is being held. Then, from December 5, it will be followed by “Mika Ninagawa Exhibition: Eternity in a Moment.” If there is an event you are interested in, it is best to check early—tickets are likely to be highly competitive.

There are four dining options, ranging from casual to formal. This is the all-day dining venue on the 45th floor, “TOKYO NODE DINING.” Located next to TOKYO NODE’s high-floor Arrival Hall, it offers an Italian-classic-based menu featuring ingredients from across Japan.

In addition, there is the concept restaurant “KEI Collection PARIS,” newly launched by Kei Kobayashi—the first Asian chef in France to earn three Michelin stars—along with the French gastronomy restaurant “apothéose,” created by Keita Kitamura, who served as chef at a Michelin one-star restaurant in Paris, as well as the café bar “TOKYO NODE CAFE.” It is a place where you can experience refined culture and cuisine.

On the 49th floor, where “KEI Collection PARIS” and “apothéose” are located, there is also a Sky Garden with an infinity pool. It is an incredible 250 m above ground—this alone could become a new Tokyo landmark. The landscape, framed in a square, feels like live art.

First time in Tokyo: “Hotel Toranomon Hills” from The Unbound Collection by Hyatt

Part of “Hotel Toranomon Hills” on the 1st and 11th–14th floors (scheduled to open on December 6) was also unveiled. This “Panorama Corner Suite Tower View” offers a relaxed, residential feel, crafted with premium quality.

The hotel’s interior design was handled by Space Copenhagen, marking their first project in Japan. It blends Nordic sensibilities with the aesthetics and practicality of Japanese architecture, creating an interior you will want to take in detail. The restaurants and café are designed to open onto the city, and the lounge can also be used as a workspace. It has made the opening even more anticipated.

A third place for everyone! A food market that brings the city to life.

What caught my attention most—especially as a food lover—was “T-MARKET,” which connects to and expands from the Station Atrium. It is a place where food-focused shops gather, including new restaurants by notable chefs, a brewery, a patisserie, and more. The interior was designed by Wonderwall, led by Masamichi Katayama. Kenichi Warita, who opened a new brand from the popular bakery “BEAVER BREAD,” was delighted, saying, “It feels like a dream to have him design my shop!”

“BEAVER BREAD BROTHERS,” the only standalone structure in the area, is also planning to operate at night as a bar where you can enjoy wine or whisky with bread. The bread is baked fresh in the shop.

Not limited to that, “T-MARKET” offers shops that can be used in many ways from morning to night. They are scheduled to open one after another, including a variety goods store and a flower shop. It is also convenient for finding a small gift.

In the evening, it becomes a “shared dining” space where you can order from each shop’s menu. In the seating area known as the “common seats,” you can enjoy dishes from the various stores within T-MARKET. “Toranomon Hills Station Tower” also has office floors, and I could not help but feel envious of the people who work here. Having your everyday place be this well-equipped is wonderful.

With the addition of “Toranomon Hills Station Tower,” the Toranomon area has become even more enjoyable. We will be keeping a close eye on it going forward.
