Celebrating the 10th Anniversary of Palace Hotel Tokyo, One of Tokyo’s Most Iconic Hotels! PR Representative Explains Special Menus and Accommodation Plans

Hello! I am Arakawa from the 1st Division of the Public Relations Business Unit, currently in my third year since joining as a new graduate.

On a sudden note, have you stayed at a hotel recently? While the impact of COVID-19 prevented us from traveling abroad or domestically for a long time, many of you may have discovered new ways to enjoy hotels—such as “staycations” at nearby hotels to refresh your mood or a bit of luxury close to home.

Today, I would like to introduce Palace Hotel Tokyo, a luxury hotel in Marunouchi, Tokyo, which I have been in charge of since I first joined the company.

What is Palace Hotel Tokyo?

Palace Hotel Tokyo Exterior

With the brand concept “Experience the Heart of Japan,” Palace Hotel Tokyo is located at “1-1-1 Marunouchi,” an area blessed with beautiful greenery and water despite being in the heart of the city. The stunning location, surrounded by the moats and greenery of the Imperial Palace Outer Gardens visible from within the building, is one of the most popular features for both domestic and international guests.

Palace Hotel Tokyo celebrated its 10th anniversary since its grand reopening on May 17, 2022.

The History of Palace Hotel Tokyo

Allow me to briefly introduce the history of Palace Hotel Tokyo. The predecessor to Palace Hotel Tokyo was “Hotel Teito,” which opened in 1947. It began as a state-owned and state-operated hotel exclusively for buyers by order of the GHQ (General Headquarters of the Allied Powers). Subsequently, Palace Hotel Co., Ltd. was established in 1960, marking the start of the Palace Hotel history. It was born as a modern hotel with state-of-the-art facilities on October 1, 1961, and has welcomed many dignitaries from Japan and abroad. To transform into a hotel better suited for a new era, it closed for reconstruction on January 31, 2009. Then, on May 17, 2012, aiming to provide the “finest quality of Japan” while cherishing the spirit of hospitality and tradition, and as a hotel that constantly pursues new value, “Palace Hotel Tokyo” was born.

10th Anniversary Cocktail “Blooming”

Blooming

The bars and lounges within the hotel are featuring “Blooming,” a cocktail based on the private-brand sake “1-1-1,” characterized by a gorgeous Japanese aroma and a clear, dignified taste. It is crafted to be easy to drink even for those who are not particularly fond of sake. It offers a refreshing flavor reminiscent of the rich nature of the Imperial Palace Outer Gardens.

10th Anniversary Accommodation Plan

Regarding accommodation plans, the “10th Anniversary Accommodation Plan,” which offers 10 of the finest experiences recommended by Palace Hotel Tokyo staff, is on sale until November 30 (Wednesday).

The plan includes eight benefits, such as a 10th-anniversary limited original room key that can also be used as a luggage tag, “Chiyo Choco” signature chocolates with a 10th-anniversary design, and wine selected by a sommelier. Additionally, guests can choose two of their favorite experiences, such as a private art tour within the building or a rickshaw tour around the Imperial Palace. The “Premier Suite,” introduced this year, offers a hotel life that feels like living in a residence.

Premier Suite

Furthermore, the “Premier Suite,” which debuted in March of this 10th anniversary year, is also noteworthy. This suite was created to allow guests to enjoy a hotel life that feels like living there, as more guests are making the hotel stay itself the purpose of their trip. The room is also designed to accommodate the increasing use of workations and family staycations. The interior achieves a “harmony with nature” by balancing the warmth of wood with a focus on the connection to the beautiful scenery of the Imperial Palace Outer Gardens stretching out before your eyes. We welcome guests with a comfortable sense of security, as if they were spending time in their own home.
