Hello, I’m Fujimura from SUNNY SIDE UP!
Today, I’d like to introduce you to a recommended way to spend your special day at Mitsui Garden Hotels!

First of all, what image comes to mind when you hear the term “Hare no Hi” (special day)?

Traditionally, “Hare no Hi” referred to special occasions and milestones in life, such as New Year’s, seasonal festivals like Hinamatsuri, Shichi-Go-San, coming-of-age ceremonies, and ceremonial events.

According to a survey on awareness of “Hare no Hi” released by Mitsui Fudosan Co., Ltd. in September 2024, more than 50% of people are unfamiliar with this term.

However, upon closer examination, the perception of “Hare no Hi” has diversified in recent years. Among younger people in their 20s, responses such as “treating yourself,” “birthdays,” “dates,” and “anniversary trips” are particularly prominent, showing a more casual and varied interpretation. This reveals that the concept has evolved into something lighter than the traditional notion of “Hare no Hi.”

This means that the increasingly popular “hotel stay” experience, which offers a touch of the extraordinary, could also be considered a “Hare no Hi”…!

So, as a PR representative, I decided to experience it myself first! I arranged a “Hare no Hi” as a reward for myself and a close friend who work hard every day, and we had a girls’ gathering at Mitsui Garden Hotel. I’ll report on the experience from my perspective with love!

We finished work early and checked in at 6:00 PM.

We stayed at Millennium Mitsui Garden Hotel Tokyo, just a 1-minute walk from Higashi-Ginza Station.

The location is perfect, with easy access to Ginza’s tourist spots within 5 to 10 minutes on foot, including bills Ginza—proudly operated by SUNNY SIDE UP GROUP—as well as GINZA SIX, Kabukiza Theatre, and various department stores.

Enjoy an Extraordinary Dinner with Seasonal “High Tea” at the Hotel Restaurant.

After checking in, we had dinner at ZEN HOUSE, a restaurant located on the basement floor of the hotel. True to its name, “Contemporary Satoyama Cuisine,” the chef personally visits existing satoyama regions across Japan to carefully select and source seasonal ingredients.

We enjoyed the “Dinner High Tea” plan, which includes all-you-can-drink alcoholic beverages including sparkling wine, Ronnefeldt tea served at Dubai’s 7-star hotels, Japanese green teas from various regions, seasonal Japanese sweets, and cuisine.

By the way, while “afternoon tea” is a familiar term, were you aware of “high tea”? High tea refers to an evening tea time that doubles as dinner, enjoyed with food and alcohol.

Enjoying premium tea, Japanese tea, and alcohol paired with sweets and dishes made from seasonal ingredients creates a truly extraordinary experience. With such a wide variety, sharing impressions of each flavor is one of the highlights!

For this occasion, we treated ourselves to a semi-private room available for 2,000 yen (tax included) per room. The private space, partitioned by noren curtains, allowed us to enjoy lively conversation without worrying about our surroundings.

The Highlight of a Girls’ Gathering is Staying Up Late! Watching Movies with Natural Wine in a Special Room.

After leisurely enjoying high tea, we returned to our room for more drinks.

We stayed in the “MIKIMOTO COSMETICS Pearl Room,” a special room limited to one per day.

Millennium Mitsui Garden Hotel Tokyo collaborates with companies connected to the local area. In keeping with Ginza’s heritage, they offer a room created in collaboration with MIKIMOTO COSMETICS, part of the Mikimoto Group founded by Kokichi Mikimoto, who established Japan’s first pearl specialty store in Ginza in 1899.

The sophisticated room, decorated with pearl-inspired lighting and objects, features a desk clock, ballpoint pen, accessories adorned with real pearls, a special bathrobe, and towels, creating a luxurious atmosphere.

Additionally, guests can freely try the premium MIKIMOTO COSMETICS set provided in the room. All bath amenities, including body soap, shampoo, and conditioner, are MIKIMOTO originals, which elevated our beauty consciousness!

The shower head and hair dryer are ReFa products. Many Mitsui Garden Hotels facilities are fully equipped with ReFa in all guest rooms, which is another selling point!

After showering and completing our skincare routine, it’s time for bed♪

…Or not.
The highlight of a girls’ gathering is, after all, staying up late! (laughs)

We opened the natural wine we’d bought for this occasion and started a viewing party of Netflix’s Emily In Paris Season 4, glass in hand. With a large monitor provided, it’s also perfect for fan activities. We thoroughly enjoyed our girls’ night!

The Best Morning with a Japanese and Western Buffet Featuring Seasonal Ingredients from Across Japan

For breakfast, we enjoyed the buffet at ZEN HOUSE, the same restaurant where we had high tea.

The carefully prepared fish dishes include salt-grilled and kelp-grilled options, with minimal cooking methods that bring out the natural flavors of fish such as rockfish and grilled salmon. The rockfish was particularly delicious and memorable! All the obanzai dishes are prepared to highlight the natural flavors of the ingredients, so they can be enjoyed on their own or as accompaniments to rice.

What really excited me was the variety of salads…!

There are over 15 types of fresh domestic vegetables, along with seasonal fruits. With four types of dressing, olive oil, salt, and cheese available, I was able to create my favorite salad and get my nutrition in the morning.

While I was in the mood for Japanese food that day, there are also standard Western breakfast items such as sausages, bacon, and scrambled eggs, as well as Chinese menu options, so those who prefer Western or Chinese breakfast can rest assured!

10:00 AM: Heading to Work in Peak Mental Condition

Refreshed by a luxurious hotel stay, ideas flow and work becomes more productive. Sometimes it’s important to slow down from our busy daily lives and create a “Hare no Hi”—a day to reward ourselves.

While we used it for a girls’ gathering this time, it’s also recommended for anniversaries or birthday stays with loved ones. All Mitsui Garden Hotels facilities have excellent locations, so even those without time to travel far can easily enjoy a staycation in Tokyo. It’s a recommended oasis♪
