Featured on WBS and news zero, “Sakura Night Garden at Shinjuku Gyoen 2023,” which opened on March 31st,  is the hot topic right now!

This time, I went to see how beautiful this place is with my own eyes!🌸

▼SUNNY SIDE UP supports NAKED’s PR for various events! (Past article in Japanese)
京都の夜を幻想的に彩る!「NAKED GARDEN ONE KYOTO」の特別イベント「NAKEDヨルモウデ 2022 平安神宮」が今年も開催!

The Shinjuku Gyoen, which is normally closed at night, is specially opened to the public for an overwhelming cherry blossom experience! The lighting changes according to the blooming conditions, so it’s fun no matter how many times you go! Let me also introduce some  sustainable & clean attractions to enjoy as well! The event is from March 31st to April 23rd, 2023.

There are approximately 900 cherry trees of about 70 varieties! First time collaboration between NAKED and Shinjuku Gyoen!

Since each of the approximately 900 cherry trees in about 70 varieties bloom at a different time of the year, the cherry blossom display area changes according to the variety of cherry tree. Visitors can enjoy cherry blossoms in full bloom at any time during the event period! At the preview, Yoshino cherry trees in full bloom were lit up in the nighttime cherry blossom walk area. In the early mid-April, visitors can enjoy a powerful projection mapping of a rare variety of cherry tree, the “Fukurokuju.”

Sustainable hanami with highly consideration for the nature and environment🌸

Upon entering the venue, the first thing to do was to diagnose “your cherry blossom” with “MY cherry blossom fortune-telling!” My cherry blossom was “Ichiyo”!

Walking around with a NAKED Distance Lantern® depicting “your sakura” in hand. (limited quantity)*1

*1: This is a participatory art that allows you to join in the light production yourself while maintaining social distance with a circle of light. The selection will be made from five different patterns of cherry blossoms blooming in the Shinjuku Gyoen.

It’s a huge place to visit, so walk at your own pace and have fun!

Shinjuku Gyoen is a national park under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of the Environment. It is a precious oasis left in the heart of the city!

I also drawn the NAKED’s custom hanamikuji (flower lottery).
And my record of consecutive “Suekichi” (uncertain luck) keeps updating.

The popular leisure sheets are also cherry blossom specs! The number is limited, so please check the official information🌸

There was also “SAKURA DANDELION,” a new work from artist Ryotaro Muramatsu’s “DANDELION PROJECT,” to make flowers of peace bloom!

It will fly to the world with the prayers for peace.

Using clean electricity! A nighttime cherry blossom event surrounded by light that is kind to both the environment and your heart!

Part of the nighttime cherry lights and projection mapping will be powered for a limited time by “MIRAI “*2, a fuel cell vehicle developed by Toyota Motor Corporation that runs on hydrogen, and by “Moving e “*3🚙

*2: An eco-car that contributes to the realization of a sustainable mobility society, combining the diversification of automobile fuels with excellent environmental performance that does not emit CO2, and the same level of convenience as current gasoline engine vehicles.

*3: Mobile power generation and supply system built by Toyota and Honda, combining fuel cell buses and large and small batteries.

Even Pikachu would be surprised with the shines powered by hydrogen!⚡

Sustainable vegan menu for Hanami 🌎 Container waste is also made from materials that can be returned to resources.

A sustainable vegan menu to accompany Hanami has been developed by the popular restaurant “TREE by NAKED!”🍴 The park’s cafe “NATIONAL PARKS CAFE Under the Tree” and kitchen cars will offer non-alcoholic cherry blossom cocktails! What a cute drink!

Pink Mocktail (non-alcoholic cocktail) with a cherry blossom motif!
Bringing alcohol is prohibited, so this makes me excited!

In order to tackle the problem of trash littering at cherry blossom viewing, environmentally friendly containers made of bio-plastic, wood, paper, etc. are also available.

Meet the plant-based corn dog and vegan nuggets that look like real chicken!
(*only available at the cafe)

There are also vegan clam chowder soups that use mirin kasu (dregs)  instead of bacon, and cherry blossom Mochi (rice cake) scone🌙 Food, sweets, and drinks at the event are all amazing!

Night Cherry Blossom Walk Area – Cherry Blossom Art Viewing Area🌸 Comfortable walking shoes are recommended in the huge park!

Even if it rains, you will be immersed in a beautiful view!✨

A Night Cherry Blossom Walk Area with Yoshino cherry trees illuminated with lights and music, and an art hanami area where you can relax with vegan food and drinks from TREE by NAKED’s kitchen car. What an experience!

No matter how old you get, cherry blossom viewing is always a treat!🌸

I really wanted to stay forever !🌙 Enjoy the rich nature of Shinjuku Gyoen, the unique urban landscape with skyscrapers beyond the lawn and trees, and the fusion of cherry trees and art, which can only be experienced here in Shinjuku Gyoen. o○.
