March 8th is International Women’s Day! A day that celebrates the accomplishments of women and a opportunity to shine light on important issues

Today, March 8th, is International Women’s Day, known around the world as a day to think about women’s lives and to give thanks for them!

This year’s theme is  “Women in leadership: Achieving an equal future in a COVID-19 world.” In recent years, as the number of working women has increased, even more awareness has been spread about female expectations.

The SUNNY SIDE UP GROUP has established the “Dear WOMAN System,” an egg freezing assistance program, as a benefit program since 2015, in order to support our female members to have as many life choices as possible.

Today, on this special occasion of International Women’s Day, we are once again asking the question, “What is egg freezing? And today, as it is International Women’s Day, we invited Dr. Tetsuaki Kaku, Chief Obstetrician and Gynecologist at Phoenix Medical Clinic, to hold an in-house online seminar to learn about egg freezing and how it can be used to help women make their life plans!

According to the doctor, about 29% of couples in Japan are suffering from infertility due to the influence of later marriages in Japan. This figure is much higher than the 5% figure for the rest of the world. The number of eggs in the ovaries has been decreasing every day since the day of birth, and when they are gone, menopause occurs. The timing of menopause varies from person to person, with one in 1,000 women in their 20s going through menopause and one in 100 women in their 30s going through menopause.

For this reason, the number of eggs a woman possesses is an important factor in her future life plans. And the AMH test can be used to determine that number.

Even for women who do not plan to conceive yet, this may be one important piece of information for their future life plans.

This was a valuable opportunity not only for female members but also for male members to think about the bodies of their families and partners. Thank you, Dr.Kaku!
