Hello New Office! The renewed SSU office filled with “fun and excitement” is finally complete! What is the whole picture of the office that realizes “fun” for each and every one of you?
Hello, this is SUNNY-chan from Public Relations!
The renovation of our Sendagaya office, which we announced about two months ago in September, is now complete, and today we have finally opened our new office!
We focused on creating a new office with a welcoming atmosphere where anyone could feel comfortable being around along with the aim of achieving sustained and rapid growth for the entire group.
Since COVID-19 there have been a lot of changes involving the work styles of people. In person meetings were avoided and instead teleworking, telecommuting, and online conferencing have become commonplace. What kind of place do we want for our office? A place where we can work face to face with our colleagues? During this difficult period of our lives, the members of the team gathered to consider what kind of place would be best.
The ideal office we came up with was a place like a “central kitchen” where many ingredients and chefs from all over the world gather to create new and unprecedented dishes!
The concept of this new office is “CENTRAL KITCHEN”. We created a large kitchen in the center of the office with the hope that many of us will gather here with new ideas to create the “fun and excitement” of the next era.
And now, with the exception of some group administrative headquarters and group companies, individual desks have been eliminated and a free-address system has been introduced!
You can choose to work at the counter, or at a round table, or even by the sofa, and so on… The open space allows you to change your working spot as you wish depending on your mood. The central kitchen is like a café, where you can get your favorite beverages and snacks. We hope the “central kitchen” becomes a place where visitors can feel the fun atmosphere of SSU.
Other features include a “Telephoning booth” for online meetings and booths where people can concentrate alone without worrying about their surroundings.
Moreover, each conference room is also printed with “famous inspirational quotes” that you can look at while working to cheer you up. (As a PR company, we want to keep reminding ourselves of the value of words and communication.)
And finally, the new office warming party started! After about two months of teleworking, the members gathered together for the first time in a while.
The party started with a greeting from President Tsugihara.
It was a pity(?) that the annual “hug with the president on Labor Thanksgiving Day” event was not available due to the prevention of the spread of the new coronavirus. However, as usual, the president’s energetic words recharged all the members of SSU!
Telework and telecommuting are becoming the new normal working style. However, President Tsugihara said, “Especially because we live in an era in which it is so easy for people to work from anywhere, we cannot forget the importance of face-to-face communication.” We hope that this new office becomes a place for everyone to be able to have such face to face communication with each other! On Friday evenings, the president herself welcomes you to the central kitchen as the mother of “Snack Etsuko” (lol)!
Anyways, as for now, in celebration of the new office, let’s keep our social distance and say “Kanpai!”
Following the president’s address, the members of the SSU will be introducing some ways how you can make the most of your new office!
Some members of the team are still having a hard time getting used to the new office…
First of all, we explained about the “free-address system” that is one of the main features of the new office. The characteristics of each location were introduced. You can work at a location that suits your task of the day and your mood, so you can definitely concentrate!
And another highlight, the “central kitchen” located in the middle of the office! They have coffee and tea, of course, but also raw egg on rice, miso soup, and even beer on Fridays! (^^) (Everyone seems to have gradually begun to take notice of the catering in front of them…?)
Lastly, I would like to introduce the “Smile Keepers” stationed in the central kitchen that were created with the opening of this new office!
It’s the birth of a nice area where you can take a break from your work!
This concludes the warming party.
And now, everyone’s eagerly awaited brunch time before the 11:00 a.m. start of work begins!
All of this looks so delicious…
But the highlight of the show, after all, is this original egg omelet!
They made original omelettes with the SUNNY SIDE UPlogo on them! They look and taste great!
The finished plate looks like this ↓
With our moods and bellies filled with happiness, we’re ready to get to work in our new office!
We look forward to seeing you all in our new office, the embodiment of our “pleasant noise”!
