SUNNY SIDE UP’s training isn’t just about learning standard business etiquette and basic knowledge! It’s a slightly unique new employee training program designed to create “fun excitement.”Sometimes we move our bodies, and sometimes we enjoy cream puffs and chiffon cakes…?!
Learning the Fundamentals as Members Who Create Fun Excitement!
The exciting start of our new employee training was packed with content, from “business etiquette”—the foundation for working professionals—to the skills necessary for PR professionals. We took our first steps toward working at SUNNY SIDE UP!✨
We learned everything from the importance of greetings and business card exchanges to language usage and professional appearance—the basics that all working professionals must master—as well as skills necessary for PR professionals, such as how to write press releases. For example! What PR is, tips for writing press releases, stakeholder-oriented PR, planning approaches, key points for generating ideas, marketing knowledge, working with media professionals, and so on… The content was so comprehensive and professional that our heads nearly exploded (laughs)…! Additionally, representatives from each group company gave presentations. Learning about each company’s business operations and experiencing the unique personalities of each representative made us feel closer to them, while also strengthening our awareness of the importance of demonstrating group synergy!🤝
Cherry Blossoms Bloom with Everyone’s Smiles! Cherry Blossom Viewing at President Tsugihara’s Home
During the training period, we visited the home of SUNNY SIDE UP GROUP’s President and Representative Director Tsugihara (the “Tsugihara Residence”?), where we prepared dinner and enjoyed recreational activities together with the president and our cohort.This year’s theme was “cherry blossom viewing”🌸
Since we can’t enjoy cherry blossom viewing outdoors during the pandemic, we wanted to experience cherry blossoms indoors…! So we created a “stylish cherry blossom viewing” with slightly luxurious homemade cuisine and a pink dress code.

We enjoyed recreational activities like “Who Am I?” quiz and “Ask Me Anything” Q&A session. The event was lively with introductions of new graduate members and valuable stories from the president that we don’t usually get to hear!By cooking together with the president at his home and participating in recreational activities, we were able to see different sides of both the president and our cohort members that we don’t see at the office, making it a very fulfilling experience.
First-Time Participation in Poached Egg, Where You Can “Pretend to Know”!
Poached Egg is a very casual gathering where volunteer members from different departments and age groups come together to share recent news and trends they’re interested in, allowing everyone to “pretend to know” about various topics. We all participated during the training period!
President Tsugihara’s light blue outfit stood out against the yellow wall, coincidentally creating the colors of Ukraine🌎
Before starting, all the new graduate members were nervous.“It’s just a casual sharing session, so don’t worry~◎” said a senior member, which helped ease the tension😊We immediately began!Each person presented their recent interests and recommendations! Finally, the last day of training.
After completing three weeks of training that seemed both long and short, all the new graduate members experienced a significant shift in mindset.Reflecting on our past selves and building expectations for our future selves, each person expressed their determination.
Some members even shed tears while speaking. (More than half shed tears. This year’s new graduate members seem to be particularly sensitive😂)We received new business cards with our assigned departments and message boards filled with encouraging messages from members and the HR team!
