[Central Kitchen] “Tamago Kake Gohan WEEK” Held! What Is the Ultimate Tamago Kake Gohan?
Hello! I’m Kurihara, a Smile Keeper.
The hot summer has passed, and autumn has arrived in the blink of an eye. When it comes to autumn, it’s the season of hearty appetites! This time, Central Kitchen held “Tamago Kake Gohan WEEK”!
What Is “Tamago Kake Gohan WEEK”?
Suddenly, do you know what day October 30 is?
Actually, it’s Tamago Kake Gohan Day 🥚🍚
At SUNNY SIDE UP GROUP, where you can enjoy tamago kake gohan every day at the office’s Central Kitchen, we had to celebrate this day! And so, the event was decided. In the middle of the office, the “Tamago Kake Gohan STATION” opened!

Tamago Kake Gohan STATION
And what is the identity of this “ultimate tamago kake gohan”!? Let me introduce you to its intriguing contents!
Introducing the Members That Make Up the Ultimate Tamago Kake Gohan!
🥚Eggs: Yuzutama @Yamasaki Farm

A refreshing egg from Kochi Prefecture with a subtle yuzu fragrance, “Yuzutama.”
The yuzu fragrance eliminates the fishy smell of eggs, bringing out the umami, sweetness, and richness—a special egg. The compatibility with “tamago kake gohan” is outstanding. From the moment you crack the egg, the yuzu fragrance gently wafts through, making it refreshing to eat!
🌾Rice: Tsuyahime Special Cultivation Rice @Nihonmono Store

So glossy
Not just the eggs—choosing premium rice makes the tamago kake gohan even more special.
Tsuyahime has a firm grain texture and elasticity. From the moment it enters your mouth, you can feel the presence of each grain. It’s rice that supports the eggs behind the scenes yet also feels like the star of the show.
🍶Dedicated Soy Sauce: Tamago KakeGohan Senyou Shoyu @Kayanoya Kubara Honke

A naturally brewed soy sauce made from domestic soybeans and wheat, with added bonito and kelp dashi, characterized by a sweet and savory flavor that brings out the umami of eggs. Even if you think you’ve poured too much, this gentle soy sauce gently envelops everything with the fragrance of dashi.
🍚Rice Accompaniments: 9 Carefully Selected Rice Accompaniments from Across Japan @Nihon Hyakkaten

From the “Meshitomo” fair held at Nihon Hyakkaten, we picked 9 rice accompaniments so delicious they’ll make you unable to stop eating tamago kake gohan. From among them, let me introduce 3 items that were particularly popular with our members!
①Chinchu Gyutan Sendai Rayu (Miyagi Prefecture, Chinchu)

90% of the ingredients inside are packed full of chunky beef tongue. It has a spicy kick while also delivering a solid umami flavor. It won No. 1 in popularity during the WEEK ✨
②Jako Nori Tanomu Kara Gohan Kudasai (Shimane Prefecture, Izumo Hachisansho)

A seaweed tsukudani with sansho pepper that catches your eye from its name alone. There’s no way it wouldn’t go well with rice! This jako seaweed was a perfect match for the smooth, creamy egg! Apparently it can be used not only with rice but also with pasta. I’d like to try that next time.
③Shimabuta Gorogoro (Okinawa Prefecture, Goya Company)

Shimabuta Gorogoro is finished in the Andansu style, an Okinawan home-cooked dish made by stir-frying miso in oil. The moderate sweetness of brown sugar and the savory aroma of raw soy sauce pack a punch, so it’s sure to go well with rice! It’s delicious even without eggs, but adding eggs makes it an even more luxurious dish.

We Created Our Own Ultimate TKG at the “Tamago Kake Gohan STATION”
At the Tamago Kake STATION, everyone enjoyed creating their own ultimate TKG with 8 types of rice accompaniments. Let me share how it went!

(Which one should I choose…)
They’re looking carefully…
And the STATION also opened at the bar kitchen on the 7th floor!

(Which rice accompaniment would go well…)
They’re looking at the premium soy sauce. It seems they’re curious about what kind of soy sauce it is (laughs).

(This TKG also looks very delicious…)
Everyone enjoyed a delicious tamago kake gohan moment at their desks and in the Central Kitchen!
In closing…
