Hello. I’m Nakano from the President’s Office PR team at SUNNY SIDE UP GROUP.

“32 Benefits” is known for its unique employee benefits, including the “AMH test” and “breakup leave.”Following the addition of subsidies for the “AMH test” in March 2022 and for “semen testing” in July, this time we are focusing on “sleep,” which is key to maintaining members’ physical and mental well-being, improving daytime focus, and enhancing individual work performance.

To coincide with “Autumn Sleep Day” on September 3, yet another unique benefit has joined the lineup!

Sleepy autumn vibes 💤

By getting plenty of sleep, you can maintain your physical and mental health and boost your daytime focus! Introducing the “Sleep Well, Grow Well” benefit

At SUNNY SIDE UP GROUP, we have already introduced a benefit called the “Siesta Program,” which allows members to take nap time during work hours. Now, to help members maintain even better mental and physical health by ensuring they get sufficient sleep, we have newly established the “Sleep Well, Grow Well” benefit!

All members’ daily sleep time is measured using a smartphone app. Members who average 7 hours or more of sleep per month will receive a reward of 3,200 yen.

This benefit was established with the hope that, by ensuring each member gets sufficient sleep, they will be able to improve their daytime focus, and enhance their individual work performance…

In the post-COVID era, where working styles have changed significantly due to factors such as the increase in remote work, we aim to enhance creativity and productivity across the entire organization by supporting individuals in maintaining their health.

3We have released a new, easy-to-understand menu that summarizes 32 Benefits!🍴

We created this in response to requests to see32 Benefits—which is currently receiving a flood of media inquiries—at a glance!👏

Are Japanese people not getting enough sleep? Japan’s sleep situation

According to a 2021 survey by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD)*1, the average sleep duration in Japan is 7 hours and 22 minutes—ranking last among 30 member countries. In addition, data published by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare this January*2 shows that 67.7% of people sleep 7 hours or less, suggesting that Japanese people are generally sleep-deprived.

Getting sufficient sleep is said to help the brain recover from fatigue, consolidate memories, and relieve stress, and the sleep guidelines promoted by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare also state that insufficient sleep reduces work efficiency and productivity, ultimately lowering job performance.

In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, global interest in “well-being”—a state of physical and mental health—has been rising, and in recent years the importance of “sleep” has also been gaining attention from the perspective of preparing for good health…!

Comment from Masato Kokubo, President CEO, SUNNY SIDE UP Inc.

Our “32 Benefits” at SUNNY SIDE UP has continued to be updated to help each member enjoy a fulfilling way of working—and living—by incorporating social trends and employee feedback.

The “Sleeping Children Grow” rule, which will be added this time, was decided to be institutionalized in response to the growing importance of “sleep.” I myself have realized the great impact of “sleep” on performance through my experience in athlete management, and among the world’s leading athletes, there are many who see “sleep as an important part of self-management” and are steadily achieving results by placing importance on quality sleep.

From the perspective of health management, we believe that the mental and physical well-being of our members is important for corporate growth. As PR professionals, we aim to continue to create “Let’s Have Fun!” for the world by maximizing daytime performance, constantly exploring, actively capturing information, and exercising creativity.

What is “32 Benefits,” our unique employee benefits program for “working happily and living happily”?

Based on the slogan “Let’s Have Fun!”, this is a unique employee benefits program established in 2011 to help members lead enjoyable and fulfilling lives. It consists of benefits that reflect our company’s character, such as “Fun Buzz Creation Support,” “Love Match Leave,” “Breakup Leave,” “Birthday Leave,” and “Happiness Won’t Come to You.” We update the program as needed in line with the times, promoting “creating an environment where each person can work in their own way.”The eligible companies are SUNNY SIDE UP GROUP Inc. and SUNNY SIDE UP Inc.
