SUNNY SIDE UP Updates Its Unique Employee Benefits “32 Benefits”! Now Includes Coverage for Semen Analysis for Male Employees
■ First, What Are the “32 Benefits”?
SUNNY SIDE UP’s “32 Benefits” are known for unique employee benefits such as “Heartbreak Leave” and the “Partnership” program. Based on our slogan “Let’s Have Fun!”, these benefits were established in 2011 to help our team members lead enjoyable and fulfilling lives, and have been continuously updated as needed. The program includes distinctive benefits such as “Support for Creating Fun and Excitement,” “Romance Challenge Leave,” “Heartbreak Leave,” “Birthday Leave,” and “Happiness Won’t Come Walking to You.” We aim to “create an environment where each individual can work in their own way.”

■ What Are the Key Updates This Time?
➊ Added Financial Support for “Semen Analysis” for Male Employees
The “Dear WOMAN” program is one of the most notable benefits at SUNNY SIDE UP.
Established with the hope of expanding options for women’s work styles and life choices, we became the first private company in Japan to introduce “Egg Freezing Subsidies” as an employee benefit in 2015.
In March 2022, we added financial support for “AMH Testing” (Anti-Müllerian Hormone Test: a blood test that reflects ovarian reserve—an indicator of the number of follicles remaining in the ovaries), which allows individuals to learn about their fertility potential. The number of users continues to grow.
This time, to provide not only female employees but also male employees with an opportunity to “understand their own bodies,” we have added financial support for “Semen Analysis.”
According to the WHO (World Health Organization) infertility cause survey, nearly 50% of infertility cases are attributed to male factors, not just female factors. Based on this background, by providing men with opportunities to “understand their own bodies,” we aim to create a society where everyone can think about fertility and infertility.
❷ Expanded Eligibility for “AMH Testing” Financial Support to Include Family Members and Partners of Male Employees
Previously, financial support for “AMH Testing” was available only to female employees.
With this update, we are expanding eligibility to include family members and partners of male employees.
We hope that “preconception care”—understanding and caring for one’s own body—will become commonplace for everyone, not only those planning pregnancy but also those who may wish to become pregnant in the future.
These two financial support programs are not intended to encourage pregnancy or childbirth, but rather are established to expand possibilities for one’s future.
By understanding the current state of their bodies, we hope all team members will have broader options when considering their careers and life plans—knowing what they can do now, what they don’t need to do yet, and what they should consider moving forward!
