After socializing in the kitchen,we held a communication workshop using colorful cards. It was a session where everyone introduced themselves and shared their dreams, bringing everyone much closer together.
Welcome to SSU!
At first, everyone looked a bit nervous as it was their first time meeting. The event started with everyone feeling a little restless while sitting in the much-anticipated Central Kitchen.First, everyone chose their favorite drink and we shared a toast!!

Etsuko Tsugihara, President of SUNNY SIDE UP GROUP, Shin Kokubo, President of SUNNY SIDE UP, and Director Matsumoto acted as hosts to welcome the guests. The atmosphere remained relaxed throughout, as the new hires saw the executives’ everyday expressions and engaged in conversations they hadn’t experienced during the selection process. In addition, alumni, members who served as instructors during internships, and members from senior Q sessions also gathered!
While introducing themselves, they bonded over stories of special skills and hobbies, and looked back on memories from the selection process…They gradually opened up, and their nervousness seemed to melt away before they knew it.

There were donuts from the popular donut shop “I’m donut?” which was a topic at a recent Poached Egg session (a meeting to share the latest trends and hot PR topics), as well as “Waraku Beniya” Hikarie-exclusive Eclair Rusks, and even passion fruit brought by President Tsugihara from her own home.

The time spent eating delicious food and talking together must have been an irreplaceable experience. With food that was both tasty and visually stunning, it was a moment in the Central Kitchen that was even more vibrant than usual! (Conducted with infection control measures in place.)
Building relationships through communication workshops!
After some time spent chatting, it was time for a workshop where participants used cards to introduce themselves and discuss their future dreams.

There were 65 cards prepared. Some were colorful and, at first glance, it was hard to tell what the photos were.
By using several of these cards to describe themselves, they shared things they wouldn’t normally mention in a standard introduction and discovered unexpected sides of one another.
“I never thought you’d interpret that card that way!”
“You’re right, that’s exactly the kind of image I have of you.”
The distance between them closed instantly as words and reactions began to flow naturally.

We also had them use the cards to express “what they want to do after joining SUNNY SIDE UP.”
“I want to enjoy my work so that I can do work that excites people!”
“I’ll do my best with the tasks in front of me to become a professional, and eventually, I want to work on things related to what I’ve studied and experienced!”
These were just some of the reliable comments that raised expectations for the future.
Through the words and stories sparked by the cards, they were able to get to know each other more deeply, and it seemed they had taken the first step toward becoming colleagues who will “Let’s Have Fun!” together!
They were able to interact with executives and members more frankly than during the selection process, making for a peaceful gathering from start to finish.Teamwork among the new hires already seems to have emerged through the workshop, and we are looking forward to the future even more.
We hope they will fully enjoy the remainder of their student lives while envisioning their professional lives at SUNNY SIDE UP until they join the company. Please look forward to these “eggs” who will lead the future!
