Hello! This is Sunny-chan from Public Relations. Spring has arrived, bringing a refreshing feeling despite the challenges of hay fever 🌸

Every year, March 2nd is “Sunny Day”!! It has come around again so quickly! 🥚🥚

To mark the occasion, we would like to introduce the “Fun Commotion Creation Support System,” a program that truly embodies the DNA of SUNNY SIDE UP from among our “32 Benefits,” which have been featured in various media outlets 🎉

What is the “Fun Commotion Creation Support System” (Entertainment Expense Subsidy System)…?

Our mission is to “Create a Fun Commotion” 🤹🏻‍♂️!

This system supports our members’ entertainment experiences based on the idea of “continuing to create many ‘fun commotions'” by keeping our antennas up and constantly experiencing and inputting various types of information from the world around us.

The system provides support for expenses incurred when attending live music, movies, theater, rakugo, sports, exhibitions, and more, up to a maximum of 2,000 yen once a month.

On last year’s Sunny Day, the scope was expanded to include the latest leisure trends such as real-life escape games, glamping, and camping 🏕🔭

The source of fun commotions! Introducing our members’ inputs!

Kinshicho Kogane-yu

Since saunas were recently added to the program, I immediately went to a famous public bathhouse in Tokyo to refresh myself! I conditioned my body over the weekend to prepare for a week full of events starting the next day ♨️ After warming up my chilled body and feeling “totonotta” (rejuvenated) with an Oropo drink, I feel like I can give it my all! 🏃‍♂️

EASTEAST_TOKYO 2023

Cultural input from museums and exhibitions is also essential 🎨 I rushed to a recent art fair where works by Tokyo-based artists and art galleries were gathered! “Loneliness Books,” a queer bookstore open on weekends by appointment only, also had an exhibit! Sunny Library System I used the to purchase a “ZINE*” 📚

*A ZINE (pronounced “zeen”) is a culture originating from the UK (though there are various theories) and is derived from the “zine” in “magazine.” It refers to a personal booklet created with free content without being bound by rules. It is a handmade medium that is like a mix of reading material, such as a book or magazine, and an art book.

Rakugo @ Asakusa Engei Hall

I have wanted to see rakugo for a long time. I decided to use the system to visit a yose (traditional theater) for the first time and headed to the Asakusa Engei Hall early in the morning. The final act of the day was the koudan storyteller Kanda Hakuzan VI, who is also active on TV and radio. I found myself drawn into his skillful, fast-paced storytelling as he effectively used the harisen (paper fan) in his hands.

Furthermore, seeing the discerning regular patrons relaxing and enjoying the performance with tea and sweets made me feel that having rakugo as a part of daily life is wonderful. It was a valuable experience that allowed me a glimpse into a side of Japanese culture I had never encountered before 🏯

What are the “32 Benefits,” our unique welfare programs for “working happily and living happily”?

Based on the slogan “Let’s Have Fun!”, these unique welfare benefits were established in 2011 to ensure that our members can lead enjoyable and fulfilling lives. The system consists of programs that embody our company’s unique character, such as “Fun Commotion Creation Support,” “Dating Leave,” “Heartbreak Leave,” “Birthday Leave,” and “Happiness Doesn’t Just Walk to You.” We update these programs as needed to keep up with the times and promote “creating an environment where each individual can work in their own way.” The eligible companies are SUNNY SIDE UP GROUP Inc. and SUNNY SIDE UP Inc.
