First Face-to-Face Meeting with SUNNY SIDE UP’s FY2021 Prospective Employees! Training at the Dialog Museum to Experience “Dialogue with Others.”
Hello!
Although it was a bit later than usual, the members who attended the October 1st induction ceremony (the “10 eggs”) were joined by new members (the “3 eggs”), and on November 15th, all 13 prospective employees met face-to-face for the first time.
We conducted a tour of our headquarters currently under renovation (which was successfully completed by the time this article was published!), training at the Dialog Museum, and a social gathering and dinner!
Since it was the first time everyone had gathered, some of the prospective employees looked a little nervous. However, they seemed to relax during the self-introduction icebreaker game, and afterwards, everyone enjoyed touring the office under renovation together!
Seeing the new office seemed to help them visualize themselves working there from April, and their already bright eyes seemed to sparkle even more (laughs).
We plan to invite the prospective employees again to the new office, which was just completed on November 24th!!
After the tour of the Sendagaya office, we headed to the Dialog Museum.

I would like to take a moment to introduce the Dialog Museum. Are you familiar with it?
The Dialog Museum is a place where visitors experience diversity by connecting things that divide the world—such as generations, disabilities, cultures, religions, and ethnicities—through encounters and dialogue. The “dialogue” created on the spot is the exhibit itself.
Through worlds of darkness or silence, participants experience the daily lives of people with visual or hearing impairments and learn the importance of “expression” and “sound” through dialogue.
The spirit of “dialogue with others” also relates to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) challenge of “Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals.”
Since our company works to solve challenges raised by the SDGs through PR and communication, we decided to have our prospective employees participate in the “Dialogue in Silence” and “Dialogue in the Light” programs to deepen their understanding of the SDGs through the experience of “dialogue with others.”

“Dialogue in Silence” involves communication in a world without sound. “Dialogue in the Dark” involves communication in a world without light.
What were the impressions of the prospective employees who actually experienced it…?
“I was able to enjoy learning about communication in an extraordinary setting, which made dialogue fun and brought us closer together.”
“I realized how difficult it is to convey and express things.”
“I realized how much I usually communicate without even thinking about it.”
“The importance of directing your focus outward. What we take for granted is not necessarily guaranteed.”
“By being considerate of others and performing the acts of ‘conveying’ and ‘listening’ in close proximity, we were able to bridge a gap that normally couldn’t be closed upon a first meeting. I’m glad our first experience together was at the Dialog Museum!!”
“I want to try the other program too!”
“I learned a lot and had a ‘fun’ experience!”
Their perspectives on “dialogue” and what they take for granted seemed to change completely before and after the experience, and the training appears to have deepened their bond.
In the evening, we moved to “bills Ginza” for a social gathering and dinner, with infection prevention measures in place.

Having completely relaxed, the prospective employees enjoyed their time together. They seemed satisfied with the delicious food and drinks.
The final dessert of the course was pancakes. Thanks to a thoughtful gesture from the staff, they came with a message congratulating them on their job offers…! (So wonderful!)

To all our prospective employees, congratulations once again on your job offers! Although we are in the midst of the pandemic, I hope you experience many things that can only be done while you are students, and I look forward to seeing you in good health in April!!
…And that’s where I’d like to conclude the training report, but it doesn’t end here!
Actually, before this training, we gave all the prospective employees a mission: to write their own experience reports for an article in “SDGs MAGAZINE,” a web magazine operated by our company.
Since they received direct guidance from their seniors on our Group’s initiatives through the SDGs and the know-how of writing for “SDGs MAGAZINE,” I am sure they will do a great job on their first assignment as members! The article is scheduled to be published in “SDGs MAGAZINE,” so please be sure to check it out!!
We plan to continue posting news and activity reports about our prospective employees on this blog. We would be delighted if you would follow their progress with us.
Until next time!
