What are the latest trends discovered by PR professionals? A look at “Poached Egg,” our morning meeting held for the first time in our renovated office!
Hello, this is PR Sunny-chan!
We held our monthly “Poached Egg” session—designed to help you sound like you’re in the know! This time, our first in the new office, we made it possible to join both offline and online.

Once again, members—including our CEO—brought along plenty of news and trends they have been following recently, and a wide range of topics came up from social-good initiatives to fun app introductions. Read this, and you will be able to sound like you know it all, too!
A werewolf-style game you can enjoy even if you are not great at talking: “Among Us”!

“Among Us” is a smartphone game similar to the classic “werewolf” game: you either identify the impostor (Impostor) hiding among the astronauts (Crewmates), or, conversely, take down the astronauts. The astronauts use a controller to move their characters, complete assigned tasks, and look for the impostor’s suspicious behavior. Meanwhile, the impostor attacks astronauts while they are distracted by tasks. It is a heart-pounding, thrill-packed game.
In fact, Sunny-chan has played this game with friends while staying home. One of the fun parts is being able to customize your character’s color and headgear. While it is still difficult to go out casually, why not enjoy it online with your friends?
A “wooden debit card” that plants trees based on how much you use it

This is the dream debit card “TreeCard,” which plants trees based on how much you use it. Surprisingly, there are no holding fees or annual fees whatsoever. You may be wondering, “If users do not pay any fees at all, where does the money for planting trees come from…?” TreeCard reportedly uses interchange fees—paid by merchants to accept card payments—to fund its tree-planting efforts.
The card itself is also made from sustainably sourced cherry wood, and each one has a different grain, making it very stylish. It also seems very convenient, with features such as expense categorization in the app, bill-splitting with friends, and connectivity with Apple Pay and Google Pay. Why not contribute to the environment by planting trees while purchasing what you need?
3D insects appear in Google Search!?

Insects have been added to Google Search’s AR feature. Search for an insect’s name on your smartphone and tap “View in 3D” to see a three-dimensional CG insect. You can observe each insect’s distinctive movements, and apparently, on Android devices only, you can even listen to the insect’s sounds.
Sunny-chan immediately searched for “Hercules beetle” on her smartphone and tapped “View in 3D”… and then, to her astonishment, a giant Hercules beetle appeared on her desk on the screen! It was incredibly impressive (laughs).
Children who love insects will be thrilled, too.

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been a rapid increase in people struggling financially as street sales have become difficult, alongside the issue of massive amounts of food being discarded every day. The project launched to address these social issues is called “Night Bakery.”
It is a wonderful project that takes in bread left unsold that day and sells it from a kitchen car, solving both job creation and food loss at the same time. Going forward, they aim to create a place where people can enjoy different bakeries’ bread on a rotating daily basis.
Great news for both parents and childcare workers! The diaper subscription service “Hands-Free Nursery”

Many parents may relate, but the daily hassle of writing names on diapers and wipes, and bringing blankets home… A savior for busy parents is “Hands-Free Nursery,” operated by BABY JOB!
With this service, parents who leave their children at daycare can have diapers and wipes delivered to the daycare on a flat-rate plan, so they do not need to bring labeled diapers and wipes or take home and wash futons and other bedding. It is a welcome service for both sides, as daycare centers can also reduce the work of receiving and managing diapers individually. If you have a young child, we encourage you to make use of it.
And today, the Smile Keeper in charge of running the kitchen for our members made egg sandwiches for us! (Prepared with thorough attention to hygiene.)

They even had SUNNY SIDE UP’s original branded stamp. Energized by a breakfast made with care, everyone returned to their respective work!
What did you think? Were there any services or items that caught your interest?
What topics will come up at the next Poached Egg…? Stay tuned!
