We will sequentially begin workplace vaccination for professionals in the entertainment industry!

SUNNY SIDE UP GROUP Inc., in cooperation with Johnny Associates, Inc., has decided to implement “workplace vaccination” for professionals in the entertainment industry starting in late June 2021.

Vaccinations are currently being rolled out sequentially for seniors aged 65 and over, as well as “workplace vaccinations” primarily at large companies. However, while some municipalities are steadily vaccinating people in their 20s to 40s—who make up a large portion of the workforce—it is expected that it will still take time overall.

Turning to the entertainment industry—where a single piece of content is created through the involvement of many stakeholders, such as events, films, music, theater, and live performances—the current reality is that it has been significantly impacted by COVID-19. In addition, the industry includes many freelancers, and due to the nature of the work, remote work is often difficult. Even with thorough infection prevention measures, the work inherently involves a minimum level of person-to-person contact, making it one of the industries where vaccination needs to be expedited.

In light of these circumstances, Johnny Associates, Inc. and SUNNY SIDE UP GROUP have decided to implement “workplace vaccination” for professionals in the entertainment industry. Eligible recipients will primarily include those involved in planning, production, and operations for events, films, music, theater, live performances, and related fields. Including employees of both companies, we will use the two companies’ networks to individually reach out to those who wish to be vaccinated among the broader group of people working in the entertainment industry.

Entertainment does not have the power to directly prevent the spread of COVID-19. However, entertainment—which has long moved people’s hearts—should have the power to energize those who experience its content and encourage actions to help prevent the spread of infection.

Through this “vaccination at workplaces,” we will support the entire entertainment industry and promote activities to return to a society where everyone can enjoy entertainment with peace of mind as soon as possible.
