Fresh Talents Ready to Create the Fun of Tomorrow | 2022 Entrance Ceremony Report

Today, April 1st, SUNNY SIDE UP held its entrance ceremony 🌸

We welcomed 14 new graduates and had an exciting day. Here is our breaking news report!

The first day as a working professional is unforgettable at any age. To make this special day even more memorable, we gave all new members a hair styling session at Jetset, the shampoo and blow-dry salon they all love! This helped them get in the right mood for their first day at the office 😊

Meanwhile, at the office, we were preparing with full effort to welcome the new graduates. Other members were on standby online as a COVID-19 precaution 💻

WELCOME TO SSU! Sunny-chan couldn’t wait and rushed out to the entrance to greet the new members at the elevator.

And then, the new members arrived one after another with their beautifully styled hair!

The entrance ceremony began right away!

The ceremony started in a warm atmosphere, including some April Fools’ Day jokes we can’t share here. First, congratulatory messages from our three directors.

SUNNY SIDE UP President Representative Director, Kokubo:

Congratulations on joining us. I also joined this company as a new graduate, and my first task was doing laundry. But last year, I became president—that’s how much you can do at this company (laughs). You might feel differently as a working professional compared to being a student, but it’s not that different. Before you know it, you’ll be able to do the work. So please don’t limit what you want to do or what you can do at this company, and demonstrate your full potential.

SUNNY SIDE UP GROUP Representative Director and President, Tsugihara:

We have truly been waiting for you! Congratulations. There are said to be 4.5 million companies in Japan, and we are delighted that you chose SUNNY SIDE UP from among so many. Today, 430,000 new working professionals were born. We are very happy to have met you among them.

People apparently make 35,000 choices per day. The present is the result of many accumulated choices. Standing here today means you have made a major choice. Your future small and large choices will continue into the future. We hope your choices will lead to a wonderful future—for you and for the company.

SUNNY SIDE UP Director Matsumoto:

Every year we present a fountain pen as a commemorative gift, and I will share my congratulations by explaining its significance.

From today, you are “professionals.” Our company handles “information that moves people’s hearts.” How do we deliver that information? We deliver it using “words.” As a symbol of “words,” we present a fountain pen every year.

This year’s pen is from DIPLOMAT, founded in Germany. The word means diplomat, and it was named with the hope that users would be active around the world like diplomats. The model we selected this time, “Esteem,” was created with the meaning of mutual respect. We chose it for this year’s 14 members with the message: “We hope you will always respect each other, be able to communicate openly, and be active around the world.” Good luck, everyone!

Next, the presentation of employment certificates and commemorative gifts.
Kokubo presented the employment certificates, and Matsumoto presented the commemorative gifts.

The commemorative gift is a fountain pen selected each year with a specific theme for new graduates joining the company, along with Konosuke Matsushita’s “Employee Handbook.”

They expressed their determination for the days ahead at SUNNY SIDE UP. After that, they participated in their first company-wide morning meeting as members, followed by the much-anticipated special content!

We were energized by the proud appearance of the new members, who have grown even more dependable since the informal offer ceremony in October!
