[Start of the 36th Term] Group Kick-off Meeting Report! — Our First Online Event —

As of July 1, 2020, SUNNY SIDE UP GROUP has entered its 36th term! In this blog post, we will report on the 36th SUNNY SIDE UP GROUP Kick-off Meeting held today.

This was our first kick-off meeting since transitioning to a holdings structure on January 1 of this year. Due to the spread of COVID-19 and with safety as our top priority, the event was held via online live stream!

All our members were excited and nervous about this new endeavor…

In previous years, we would rent out movie theaters or halls for all group members to gather in one place, but this year, everyone participated from their respective locations.

And the first segment of this year’s kick-off meeting was…

“news32,” a news program reporting on “fun commotions,” featuring Tsugihara as a news anchor! It has returned after a one-year hiatus. (This is a tribute to various news programs.)

This segment is an information program that interviews representatives and departments of SUNNY SIDE UP GROUP to reflect on the previous term and share goals for the new one. Following last year’s success, it took several months to produce, from planning and filming to editing!

We held the SUNNY AWARDS again this year! We honored the teams that created “fun commotions” during the previous term.

In addition to “news32,” we held the “SUNNY AWARDS” via a live broadcast from the office! We recognized members and teams who created “fun commotions” during the previous term.

The facilitators for this event were new graduates who just joined the company this April. Their professional-level performance drew gasps of surprise from their senior colleagues!

This year, despite PR activities being restricted due to the spread of COVID-19, we established a “Stay Home Project” category and presented a special award to those who achieved remarkable results through their ingenuity.

While limiting the number of people at the broadcast site, representative members attended the ceremony and shared their thoughts on the project!

Additionally, we announced winners for categories such as “MVT (Most Valuable Tanoshii Sawagi),” which honors outstanding projects.

This segment is always a highlight every year. The live stream comment section was buzzing with excitement, filled with messages like “Way to go!” and “Congratulations!!” for the winning teams.

Finally, the event, which lasted over two hours, drew to a close.

The 36th term kick-off meeting concluded with the President’s words: “Because everyone’s idea of ‘fun’ is different, I want this to be a place where everyone can fulfill their own ‘fun.’ Work hard and do your best to make your own ‘fun’ a reality.”
