Hoping for the day when all members can play together again! Introducing the Futsal Club’s activities

In the hope that the day will soon come when we can play sports without any anxiety, we present the project “SUNNY SIDE UP GROUP Club Activity Introduction”! We will report on the activities of each club in a relay writing format.

This blog post is brought to you by Sakama, the captain of the Futsal Club.

The “Futsal Club” is a major force among the five club activities within the SUNNY SIDE UP GROUP.

With approximately 35 members from various departments, ages, and genders, it is a club where everyone from beginners to experienced players can enjoy kicking the ball together in a lively atmosphere. Although we have hardly been able to operate this season due to the impact of COVID-19, I would like to look back on our previous activities.

The Futsal Club is characterized by members who tire easily but have plenty of “hype men” on the bench. We entered the mixed-gender category and played more boisterously than any other team (despite this, we once won a tournament with a perfect record!).

After enjoying ourselves at a moderate level without overexerting or getting injured, we had our customary post-game meal.

Hot yakiniku and cold beer after everyone has run, laughed, and cheered with full energy is simply irresistible. It is a great opportunity to bond through futsal on the weekends with members we usually only see in the office.

While we are currently unable to gather like this, we hope that once the situation improves, we can all sit around a table again for a post-match review session…

<Competing in Inter-company Matches!>

We also participated in exchange matches with people from the media and talent agencies. It is very lively as fresh members in their first year with the company participate energetically. As expected, we were more enthusiastic and enjoyed ourselves more than any other team.

Conversing with the opposing teams between matches is a unique aspect of these exchange games. Moving forward, while monitoring the situation, we hope to continue interacting through matches with the companies and media professionals who support us.

This Futsal Club is now in its fifth year of official activity. Including the period when it was run by a group of volunteers before becoming an official club, it is in its seventh year.

*The three images above show activities from 2016 to 2019.

We will continue our steady activities, transcending departmental boundaries and blending veterans with fresh members! (To our partner companies: we look forward to receiving futsal match requests once the situation settles down, haha.)

Unfortunately, we cannot conduct activities at the moment, but everyone is working hard on their mental training, looking forward to the day when we can all chase a single ball together again!

We plan to share updates on other club activities as well! Please stay tuned.
