Hello! I’m Hirahara, the Smile Keeper.
“Poached Egg” is our monthly get-together where we share noteworthy news and the latest trends. Many members joined us again this month, saying that participating helps them sound like they know it all!
From the many topics our members brought in, here are a few highlights!
An era where you can build a house with a printer! A home made with the Netherlands’ first 3D printer.

A stylish single-story home in the Netherlands. In fact, this house is a dreamlike structure created with 3D printing! Reportedly, 24 concrete components were printed in multiple layers, transported to the construction site, and then fitted with doors and windows.
By using a 3D printer, homes can be customized to suit customers and spaces, and built more quickly.
Building a house with a printer is an evolution that feels like a childhood dream coming true!

A school lunch menu item called “Cider Kanten” that is hugely popular at elementary schools in Fuji City, Shizuoka. With a mysterious texture where the cider bubbles fizz and pop in your mouth, it is so popular that even children with small appetites join the battle for seconds!
“Cider Kanten” is a dessert made by mixing cider, agar, granulated sugar, and syrup. The cooking method is detailed and scientific—for example, measuring the temperature and pouring in the cider once it reaches 52°C.
It seems local residents are getting excited on social media as they reminisce about this nostalgic menu item!

Everyone has likely experienced being unable to convey their thoughts because they do not speak a foreign language, or wanting to become friends but being unable to communicate.
A dreamlike solution that fulfills humanity’s wish to “talk with people from overseas” has been born: the language-free space “YouConnect.” When you speak in your native language, subtitles translated into the listener’s native language appear, enabling instant communication. It supports eight languages: Japanese, Chinese, English, Spanish, French, Dutch, Russian, and Vietnamese.
It truly feels like software that brings humanity’s long-held dream to life!

“Poikatsu,” or the activity of earning points, has become popular among homemakers and students as a way to make pocket money in spare moments. Traditionally, points could be earned by viewing online ads or registering for memberships. Now, as a new way to do poikatsu, an app has appeared that lets you earn points simply by moving around!
The miles you accumulate by moving become points, which can be exchanged for gifts and more.
It is a fun app that even poikatsu beginners can start easily. It may also be a good way to address a lack of exercise during time at home—try taking a walk and earning points along the way.
