“Adult Otoshidama” Surprise & New Media “GOOD&NEWS” Announcement! We Held Our 2026 New Year Kickoff Event 🐴
Happy New Year! This is PR Sunny-chan.
SUNNY SIDE UP GROUP held a New Year event at our Sendagaya office on January 5, marking the start of work in 2026!
In addition to announcing a new corporate identity that will serve as the group’s new banner, we introduced a new news media platform “GOOD&NEWS” and surprised our members with the “Adult Otoshidama” initiative…!
We report on the event, which was packed with content.
This year’s event was held in a hybrid format, combining online and offline participation.
The MC was Takeuchi, a first-year employee who has been gradually building experience as a PR professional at event sites since joining in April. With a careful approach that conveyed both nervousness and professionalism, she supported the event with her natural brightness.

At the beginning of the event, Tsugihara, President and Representative Director of SUNNY SIDE UP GROUP, delivered New Year’s greetings.
Sharing anecdotes from the year-end and New Year holidays, he delivered a powerful message: “Learn from the wider world and become a company that changes society through ‘Let’s Have Fun!'”

Then, wishing for the group’s further growth, we held a “kagami-biraki” (barrel-opening ceremony).
In addition to Tsugihara, Vice President Watanabe and the presidents of each group company took the stage, and everyone in the venue opened the barrel together with the chant “Yoisho! Yoisho! Yoisho!”

New Corporate Identity “GOOD IMPACT GROUP”
And! One of the major topics of this New Year event was the announcement of our group’s corporate identity by Tsugihara.
Since its founding in 1985, SUNNY SIDE UP GROUP has cherished the motto “Let’s Have Fun!”
With the desire to continue creating GOOD impact in society through this spirit of having fun, SUNNY SIDE UP GROUP will start anew this year as “GOOD IMPACT GROUP.”

Centered on the cherished principle of “Let’s Have Fun!” the identity embodies our commitment to creating positive impact in the world and contributing to making society even better.
Additionally, each group company has established its own corporate identity based on its respective role and strengths, with each company president sharing the thoughts behind them.
Introducing “GOOD&NEWS,” Which Conveys the World’s GOOD and Creates Opportunities for Dialogue
Next, we introduced the news media platform “GOOD&NEWS.”

This is a short-form video media platform launched by Good and Company, aiming to create a cycle where we convey the world’s “GOOD,” and comments generated from questions expand into dialogue and discussion between people.
“GOOD&NEWS” discovers seeds of GOOD in the world and distributes them through short videos on social media. We shared internally our approach of connecting the comments and reactions generated to “new insights” and “actions,” viewing the process itself as “GOOD” while creating a positive cycle.

And a Surprise! “Adult Otoshidama” of 32,000 Yen Distributed to Approximately 380 Employees
The New Year kickoff event was already packed with content, but… the highlight was saved for last.
What Tsugihara announced was a surprise initiative for members: “Adult Otoshidama”!
Recently, due to rising prices, situations where people feel “I want to spend, but end up saving” or “It’s harder to spend with less surplus funds” have increased.
Under these circumstances, our group implemented this initiative with the desire to “create momentum from within the company to stimulate the economy through active consumption.”
This otoshidama distributed 32,000 yen to approximately 380 eligible members, a number inspired by “Sunny”. At the moment of announcement, the venue erupted with cheers of “What!” and “Amazing!” followed by applause and great excitement!

Furthermore, during the event, we held an “Adult Otoshidama Ceremony” where Vice President Watanabe personally handed otoshidama to first-year employees. While expressing daily gratitude, she conveyed the message to “use rather than save the otoshidama received to help stimulate the Japanese economy, even if just a little,” and handed envelopes to each person.
On the day, several media representatives also visited our office.

Media representatives also covered the venue atmosphere, where various intended uses such as “I want to go to a hot spring” and “I’ll buy a birthday present for my sister” were exchanged.Thank you very much!
For Stomachs Tired from the Year-End and New Year Holidays: Carefully Selected Japanese Cuisine Using Domestic Ingredients, No Chemical Seasonings, and Pesticide-Free
After the ceremony, it was time for the meal that members had been waiting for 🍚
This time, to care for stomachs slightly tired from overeating and overdrinking during the year-end and New Year holidays, we prepared carefully selected Japanese cuisine that is gentle on the body.

Natural silver cod saikyo-yaki, candied sweet potatoes made with naturally cultivated beni-haruka, kinpira gobo with organic vegetables, thick omelet made with free-range natural eggs… and more. Members couldn’t help but smile at the array of dishes centered on domestic ingredients and prepared without chemical seasonings.

It was a time to recharge both body and mind with gentle food!
Let’s Make 2026 a Year of Increasing “GOOD” Together!
And so, this year’s “New Year Kickoff Event” concluded! Members who had filled up on luxurious food suddenly switched to their professional faces and returned to their respective work.
This year as well, under our new corporate identity “GOOD IMPACT GROUP,” we will move forward as one group to create GOOD impact through “Let’s Have Fun!”
