If you have not made any plans yet, this is for you. This time, we are introducing events in and around Tokyo taking place in summer 2024, for which SUNNY SIDE UP is supporting PR.

[Shibuya Scramble Square] SUMMER SCRAMBLE PARTY (July 4–31)

At “Shibuya Scramble Square,” under the theme “SUMMER,ME,UP!,” there will be plenty of Shibuya Scramble Square–style content to enjoy summer, including festival-style events and music events.

A particular highlight is “SCRAMBLE MUSIC LOUNGE,” held in the event space on the 12th floor. True to Shibuya’s identity as the heart of Japan’s music culture, this is a cutting-edge music event created by combining and blending music with a variety of elements.

In addition to appearances by various artists playing great music, the popular Koenji coffee stand “INCredible COFFEE” will also be on site. Enjoy the music with a delicious coffee in hand.

In addition, at the observation facility “SHIBUYA SKY,” the “Sky Summer Festival” will also be held. On Saturday, July 13 and Saturday, July 20, you can enjoy “ROOFTOP Bon Odori,” Shibuya’s new Bon dance experience produced with light, sound, and an overwhelmingly open atmosphere. At the 46th-floor music bar “Paradise Lounge,” you can also enjoy summer-perfect festival foods such as fried takoyaki and ramune.

[Tokyo Big Sight] HandMade In Japan Fes 2024 (July 20–21)

Japan’s largest creator festival, “HandMade In Japan Fes 2024,” will be held at Tokyo Big Sight.

This event supports creators who are passionate about making things by sharing with audiences in Japan and abroad the fusion of Japan’s unique creativity and handcrafted precision as Japan-originated creative culture, “HandMade In Japan.”

Inside the venue, original works by creators active across Japan will be lined up in abundance—from fashion items such as accessories and bags to interior goods, kitchen items, art, tableware, and handicrafts.

An incredible 3,000 creators from across Japan will be exhibiting. You are sure to find a favorite item.

In addition, there will be live stages by featured artists and handmade food offerings. Enjoy a space where you can experience creativity with all five senses through experiences available only here.

[Roppongi Hills] “Roppongi Gourmet Burger Grand Prix 2024” (July 1–September 1)

For food lovers, we recommend the “Roppongi Gourmet Burger Grand Prix 2024.” Launched in 2014, it is a wild, summer-perfect gourmet event.

Marking its 10th edition this year, four restaurants from Azabudai Hills—opened just last November—will join for the first time. A total of 26 menu items will gather in one place: 17 “Special Limited-Time Menus” and 9 “Regular Menus” offered year-round, allowing you to enjoy gourmet burgers from 21 participating restaurants.

At the Roppongi Gourmet Burger Grand Prix, cross-industry burgers created by specialty shops are especially popular.

This year, you can enjoy items such as the distinctive Korean-flavored “Premium Beef Menchi-Katsu Burger with Korean-Style Tomato Sauce & Tartar Sauce” from “KOREAN BBQ Suragan,” and the “Tuna × Beef Cheese Smash Burger,” featuring a patty made with negitoro and ground beef, from “Tetsu-chan.”

[Yokohama Yamashita Pier] Art Squiggle Yokohama 2024 (July 19–September 1)

If you enjoy art, take a short trip to “Art Squiggle Yokohama 2024.”

This is a contemporary art festival centered on emerging artists who create works through repeated “Squiggle” (soft trial and error), allowing visitors to enjoy ways of living through artworks and spaces.

The venue will exhibit works by 16 artists and collectives, mainly emerging talents expected to gain further recognition both in Japan and abroad, as well as currently active artists. The diverse works, created through a thought process that moves between subjectivity and objectivity, are sure to serve as triggers for new perspectives and insights.

There will also be a library and lounge where you can learn about art, reflect, and engage in dialogue with others, as well as “Artist Note” production and workshops.

You will be able to spend a day fully engaging with art while feeling the sea breeze.
