From PR Communications to Promoting Women’s Success! A Comprehensive Look at the Awards Won by SUNNY SIDE UP GROUP in 2023 🏆
Hello! This is Sunny-chan from Public Relations.
Winter has truly arrived! Yet, I find myself still holding back on bringing out my warmest outerwear… How are you all spending this relatively mild year-end? ☃️
This year, SUNNY SIDE UP GROUP has continued to move forward with the goal of having all our members create even more “fun and exciting news.” We are grateful that our daily activities were recognized, leading to several award wins in 2023!
In today’s article, we would like to introduce those awards all at once.
The “Uber Eats Delivery to Space” project won the Category Top Award at the International PR Association’s “GOLDEN WORLD AWARDS 2023”! (SUNNY SIDE UP)

In August of this year, the “Uber Eats Delivery to Space” project for Uber Eats Japan, for which SUNNY SIDE UP handled PR communications, won the top award in the “Consumer PR for an existing service – Agency” category at the “Golden World Awards 2023.” 👏
In this project, Uber Eats appointed Yusaku Maezawa, the first Japanese civilian to travel to and stay at the International Space Station (ISS), as a special delivery partner to deliver bonus food to astronauts staying at the ISS. This news was broadcast in all countries where Uber Eats operates, covered by media worldwide, and became a major topic of conversation.
The background of the award included the unique circumstances of an era where demand for online delivery services surged due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and consumers were confined to their homes, making it difficult to even dream big. In this context, the unique and grand initiative that brought smiles to people around the world was highly evaluated, leading to the award.
This project increased people’s interest in the new frontier of space and demonstrated new possibilities, with significance that extended beyond PR alone.

Yo-Ho Brewing’s “Yona Yona Ale of Promise” won the ACC Bronze Award in the Branded Communication category at the ACC TOKYO CREATIVITY AWARDS (SUNNY SIDE UP)

In October, the “Yona Yona Ale of Promise” project for Yo-Ho Brewing, for which SUNNY SIDE UP handled the PR, won the ACC Bronze Award in the Branded Communication category at the “63rd ACC TOKYO CREATIVITY AWARDS,” one of Japan’s largest creative awards, garnering significant attention both inside and outside the industry.
The “Yona Yona Ale of Promise” project focused on “promises for the future.” For parents, it is exciting to talk about “drinking beer together” when their child turns 20. To make such a drinking promise “real,” we made it possible to reserve “Yona Yona Ale to be released in 10 or 20 years.” The reservation method involves parents and children putting a letter of promise into a beer-can-shaped time capsule and storing it for 10 or 20 years. When the child grows up, this can becomes a reservation ticket, allowing them to toast together. This initiative turned the restriction of “alcohol only after age 20” into something to look forward to in the future.
Since the project involved children—a subject often considered taboo in the beer industry—the key point was how to make people feel the value of a “promise for the future” with children or loved ones. We successfully generated buzz by carefully designing the exposure plan for TV and web media on August 18th (“Promise Day”) and the final weekend of summer vacation, as well as the selection, content, and timing of influencer posts.

Won the “Grand Prize” in the Business Category of the “FY2023 Tokyo Metropolitan Women’s Empowerment Excellence Awards” hosted by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government (SUNNY SIDE UP GROUP)
And in December 2023, SUNNY SIDE UP GROUP won the Grand Prize in the Business Category of the “FY2023 Tokyo Metropolitan Women’s Empowerment Excellence Awards”! This award is hosted by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and is presented to companies and organizations that promote women’s empowerment toward the realization of a society where women can choose diverse ways of living. 🧺
SUNNY SIDE UP GROUP received this award in recognition of its unique welfare systems that support diverse lifestyles, such as “subsidies for egg freezing” and “heartbreak leave,” as well as its external awareness-raising activities aimed at solving women’s physical, mental, and social challenges.
Moving forward, we aim to build an organization that leads in DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion). By fostering a corporate culture where diverse perspectives—not only gender but also age, race, and nationality—are understood, we will create an environment where well-being can be achieved. 🍃
